No, people exist to hurt you and use you, I have been burnt to many times, now I just repel people I do not need in my life, i have my circle of friends, familiy and I don't need new ones, so its a survival mechanism, keep away from me type of thing.

And it never occurred to you that there is in fact a cause and effect between this and the way you described people treating you? Do you think the people around you aren't aware of your disdain? If all you use them for is a means to an end, then don't be surprised if they use you just the same and drop you like a bad habit when they're done.

If you want to change the nature of the relationships you're in, or at least get people to be polite to you even if you don't want a lot of interaction, try changing the way you treat them. It's amazing how effective it is. Won't work on everyone, but it will certainly help.
