I've always used glass! -Not only is it microwave safe it's also easily cleaned (and dishwasher safe) and it's dirt-cheap in second-hand shops! (would you eat something that's been stored in second-hand plastic?)

Also (tinfoil hat time) heating things up in plastic can release toxins into your food. I'm guilty of it from time to time, but I do try to make an effort to remove leftovers and such from the plastic before heating things up in the microwave.
