Almost every Enterprise we've seen has had its share of iconic support craft, usually in the form of a shuttlecraft. TOS had the Galileo, TNG had the Type 6 and Type 7 shuttlecraft, and so on.

As I said, *almost* every Enterprise.

Your challenge for this month is to come up with a previously unseen support craft that is worthy of its mother ship. You can design the main shuttlecraft for the Enterprise-C or Adam Ihle's Enterprise-F, or maybe show us one of the lesser used craft hidden in the back of the hangar of Kirk's Enterprise.

Open the hangar bay doors, and take off!

Questions, B.J.: By "support craft," do you mean specifically a vessel that must be containable by the principal ship? Or can it be a "support ship" in the way that a contemporary support ship can be assigned to a combat strike group?

Second, must the ship that this candidate supports be pre-existing, and if so, in what capacity? Must it be a ship that we've already seen on-screen (e.g., the Prometheus or the Saratoga)? Or can it be a support ship of an existing fan design? Or can it be a support ship for an indeterminate class of as-yet-undesigned vessel?

^Yes, this is what I meant.

While that would be interesting, I think that would widen the challenge a bit too far. Perhaps this could be an idea for a future challenge.

Specifically, it must be a support craft (shuttlecraft, workbee, etc.) of an Enterprise. Which Enterprise is up to you.

or, create a thread in the Trek Art forum called something like "WinstonSmith's entry for July Art Challenge", like most people who participate do. :D

I'll have the poll up this evening, folks - been working 14-hour days (daze!) and finally getting a chance to catch my breath. I have entries from Klaus, BK613, Admiral2 and WinstonSmith (I like the idea of printing it on A$ and mailing it, though! :D); I hope I haven't missed an e-mail from someone.

I just posted my entry to the forum per USS Triumphant's comment. Didn't know email was required.
