Hey, why not The Further Adventures of Star Trek Unity's two new episodes? I'm expecting a third. The technical stuff here keeps improving, and we are now in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" Territory with this series. http://startrekreviewed.blogspot.com/2011/06/headline-news-last-month-only.html. Oh, and you can find other new stuff I'm not yet headlining around Star Trek Reviewed because I want to give each release some time at the top.

I debated about putting those two in, but I wasn't sure if the one web address would suffice for that. I'll plug it in next week. Thanks for the input, Barb! :bolian:

I think the new releases are head and shoulders above Luke Sutton's old stuff. You either have to link to each film or to me, because his website is just a You Tube page which has hundreds of uploads. If you haven't watched these new Unity releases, you should. He did his first stuff when he was 12 or 13, but he's in a legit English film school now. He could always tell a story, but he's getting the technical stuff down now, too. I totally enjoy his films.

DEBUTING SOON:
"Rescue From the Lizard Men" (first episode airing Monday, July 18)
Voyage Trekkers

Isn't Tim going to be releasing his final installment of Star Trek Aurora this summer?

Q2

Unless you know a specific date, yes, he said this summer. But whether that's August or September or later in July... not yet known. This was originally scheduled for release in February, then it was "Spring" then "Summer." This is typical of independent productions, and not uncommon in Hollywood productions, either. JJA Trek II was originally going to be released in 2011, then 2012, now it's looking like late 2012 or 2013. I know from private communications that he is working on it, though. I am telling people who ask, "this year." We will all be delighted WHENEVER is is released.

Hi Randy! Many thanks for your continuing efforts to promote fan productions and best of luck in your own job search. Trust me, I can relate!

Star Trek: Excelsior's epic episode "The Man from Syracuse" is still at the top of the page when you go to www.starshipexcelsior.com. We are almost ready to start pre-production on our next episode. We haven't established a target release date yet for it, but we do have another of our "Behind the Scenes" vignettes with a certain unkillable captain ready for release when the natives start getting too restless for some new content! :)

Q2

Interestingly enough, I learned that Star Trek: Aurora was going to be shown during the Fan Film Festival at the Shore Leave convention north of Baltimore a week or so ago. I emailed Tim and asked if they would be showing the completed saga there, and he said that the final act wasn't ready but we could see the first four acts together and upgraded technically.

If you want to know why I don't review incomplete efforts, repeat after me: "Starship Exeter." :vulcan:

I asked Tim to let me know when his completed epic will be ready for public release, and he said he'd do that.

And Barb is right; the summer could be early May though late September. I understand the amount of work that goes into these labors of love, so I try not to be pushy on that. If they're struggling with things I couldn't do much less pronounce, I'm more than willing to see the cool final product when it's ready.

Thanks for the heads-up, Mike. Fortunately, I was still able to edit the post and include your episode in the list.

And as far as promoting fan productions goes, I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it. Right now, I'm considering jumping into the tidal wave that is the final Harry Potter film by looking at the most recent independent production adventure of his son, James. We'll see if that comes together over the next few days!

Intrepid will *probably* be releasing the vignette Machinations in the latter half of August.

Sounds great! IMHO, it's been too long since we enjoyed an adventure with the Intrepid, but life can get in the way of Trek, so we'll look forward to that when you're ready to wow us again! :bolian:

Well, I don't see any changes or additions this Friday, so just refer back to the list a few posts ago to find any independent productions. It's the heat (literaly) of summer, so I'm not surprised that new fan films are few and far between!

Also, although I do not give headlines to Episodes which end, "To Be Continued..."
The Further Adventures of Star Trek Unity has released The Warriors of Qo'noS. This episode ends in a cliffhanger, with "To Be Continued..." in the next episode, which is entitled, "A Good Day to Die."

There's more, but that's enough for the moment!

Wow, Barb! You sure are a treasure trove of information!

Fortunately, there was still time for me to edit my original post, so I added the second Voyage Trekkers segment and the new Further Adventures of Star Trek Unity episode as well.

As for Star Trek: Armada, I listed which episodes of Season 3 are available and put the home site as the place to go. I'm a bit uncertain whether people seeing such a long list would be intimidated into avoiding the site.

If anyone would rather have each episode of efforts like that listed individually as Barb has done here, let me know. I want to make this thread as useful as I can for you independent production lovers.

This has been a summer of Fan Film releases. I'm guessing it's because so many were released in 2009, and then people were developing in 2010, which was very slow. The film works started after 2009 are now bearing fruit. Do you also wants shorts, and if so, is there a limit on HOW short?

Well, it's past time for me to be able to edit this week's list, but I'll be sure to include those in next week's column, Barb. Again, thanks for the heads-up!
