The best episode of TNG - Part Six

Ship in a Bottle
Face of the Enemy
Birthright (I)
Birthright (II)
Starship Mine
The Chase
Second Chances
Timescape

Removing Relics. It wasn't that good of an episode, although it was good to see Scotty again.

Removing The Chase because it was a great idea that didn't live up to its promise. With a few more twists and turns it might have made a great two-parter.

Before something bad happens and I get even more shocked, I'm removing Birthright II. How on this earth could this episode survive and see episodes like Tapestry, Chain of Command II, and Schisms go before this one I will not know. As for my reason on the episode itself, I'll just pose this question. Haven't we gotten worn out on Klingon stories and haritage by this point? At least in Part 1, there was that awesome, one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen on TV, dream sequence that saved that episode, but it wasn't here.

I'm gonna take out Birthright (Sorry, Tomalak). I mean, what happened with Data's dreams? That's never touched on in Part 2. Far better to make them two stand alone episodes instead of a two part combining two only weakly related stories.

Not wanting to derail the thread, but I thought it was explained quite well at the end of Part 1. Data experienced his first dream as part of what that lazer thing did (Kind of a activating a fail safe into Data's system) and was going to have more dreams and explore them more fully for the rest of his life, which got a little interesting in his first nightmare in Phantasms. I do agree though that this shouldn't have been a two parter, but more two self contained episodes, but the dream sequence ended well in Part 1 to the point that it didn't need to be addressed in part 2.

Somebody removed Part II of Chain of Command before Part I? I guess I'll fix that now, even though it's still a pretty good episode. The best of the season -- "Tapestry" -- is sadly already gone. :(

I removed CoCII for no better reason than someone removed Tapestry with like the third vote.

A bit childish? Yes. Then again, it was TNGs best episode from TNGs best season with TNGs best recurring character/villain. What was that character's name? What's my username?

I see what I did there.

Tapestry got raped for no other reason than the framing story :( *cries*

I'm removing Starship Mine because the away team scenes bored me and Picard could have just gone to a shuttle and beamed all the hoodlums into cargo bay 4 .. or maybe just have uttered something like "computer, override main power shutdown" before getting on the transporter pad. And are they trying to tell us that Picard couldn't have tapped his combadge and said "Picard to Riker, Urgent?"

I call BS on this whole episode.

*grunts, clutches fist, and holds fist up, shaking it*

DAM YOU!

Not to derail the thread, but no he couldn't've.

The power went out right after he disable Tuvok and he tried to beam off the ship but it was too late.

Not saying it wasn't explained, but it just seemed like it was a tacked on sub plot to build up the episode to it's required length.

Far better to have one ep with just Data's dreams, expand it out and make it more emotionally meaningful, and compress the Worf story into one episode, making it more intense.

Birthright is the only two parter I wish wasn't a two parter for exactly that reason. It didn't really need to be and I agree it would have packed a far more emotional punch having Data's story being the main story.

Only if we assume shuttlecraft transporters require power from their mothership, which is patently false.

The list since I took this thread off topic to the next page:

Ship in a Bottle
Face of the Enemy
Second Chances
Timescape

Someone do Timescape next. Too much Troi.

First of all... OH NO! Please not that! That's why I like "Timescape"!

I just wish Troi kept her uniform on in "Starship Mine"...

And second of all, why don't you delete the episode yourself? More than two people posted after your last post prior to this one.

And in fact, when the Season 7 round comes I thought about deleting "Preemptive Strike" because of NOT ENOUGH Troi!

Okay, I'm gonna annoy people, but Second Chances goes... :)

Ship in a Bottle
Face of the Enemy
Timescape

I've never deleted two episodes in one round but as they say, there's a first time for everything, and the rules do give people the right to delete two episodes as long as the terminator waits for two other deletions or posts... so with that being said, down comes the episode that made my favorite character ugly. See ya, "Face of the Enemy!"

Oh, is that the rule? in that case:

:wtf: Easily Troi's best episode.
