Is this anyway to treat an Admiral...

Just finished watching "Generations" and the way that Jean-Luc "buried" on of StarFleets Best. Under a pile of rocks, so
eventually they would fall off and he would probably be eaten by the vermin on Vidian.

Surly, there must be some kind of protocal when dealing with the death of a Star Fleet legend, but under a pile of rocks seems just a bit undignfied, even for an ensign, must less a legend. Any thoughts ????

Not exactly sure what Picard was suppose to do with the body? At the time he buried him, he had probably lost all contact with the Enterprise and was unsure when rescue would arrive.

Or the Sela will transport the body to her ship and implant him with Borg nanites and bring him back to life.

Preposterous I say! That sounds like a badly written fanfic that will never be published! Next you'll be telling me Pluto gets eaten by a Borg Cube!

Kirk wasn't an admiral but a retired captain in Generations. Remember he was demoted in TVH. (Also in TMP, but that was more his choice).

Kirk will then destroy a branch of the Borg at their homeworld by pulling a massive LEVER and then get transported to a planet where Hugh just happens to live and remove Borg implants. TA-DA, Kirk lives.

Jean-Luc got off the planet, could they not have removed Kirks remains, when the rest of the Ent-D got off Verdian.
This was no red-shirt when Kirk would tell some lowly Red-Shirt to go and check out some cave. I was aware that there was an Admiral Kirk, so he got demoted, so what. To
leave one the Star Fleets best to rot away on some forgotten planet, to me at least in unacceptable, Espically
when rescue ship were on there way...Anyone ever hear of Statis, it not only keeps people alive in Statis, it can also
preserve the deceased, to give them a proper burial, one that Kirk most certinly deserved...

We don't know that they didn't remove the remains once Picard was rescued.

Kirks understated burial is the thing I have the least problem with when it comes to his death.

Yes he was a hero who saved the earth more than a handful of times and the galaxy on more than one occassion but at least later in life he didn't seem to need or want the hero worship or the fame, just to do what he did best sit in the centre seat and make a difference.
