Yeah but it still seems weird to me that you wouldn't go and make sure that authorities had been called or something. It's not like there were paramedics there with her. I'd at least make sure if I was taking a picture!

I seem to recall watching a security video where maybe ten people walked past a man who was having a heart attack without helping. Some even took pics with their cellphones. That was in NYC, if I remember correctly.
While you might think he should've helped. You cannot forget that if you dont know what you are doing, you might make it worse.
I was once present at a streetrace that went bad and a lot of people got hurt, quite badly i'm afraid. One of the bystanders attempted CPR and ended up breaking the mans cracked ribs in a way that it pierced his left lung. He barely survived. Me and a few friends managed to keep him and two other seriously injured drivers alive long enough for the paramedics to arrive. That's one thing i never want to live through again. At the time i had unofficial emergency medicine training. A friend of mine who is a paramedic/field medic taught me.
While it is true that you should help if you can, but the keyword here is "can". As I said, you mess up, you might kill him/her.

Who said he didn't? He's also clearly using some sort of telephoto lens here, so who even knows how far away he was?
But this is very different from pedestrians walking past an injured person in the street. What you're essentially doing is calling journalism, photo or otherwise, into question. And the reason that journalists spend their time writing, photographing and otherwise documenting events like these instead of doing the job of the paramedics is because it is their job and if they don't people like us will never hear about these things and never understand the real impact of events. And that's important too.

And I assume that he didn't because there's a quote of him saying that he didn't even realize that the couple was kissing until someone who saw the photos later pointed it out to him, so it sounds as if he never approached the couple.
I made out with a girl last night. It was a riot.

Fake or not, that photo would make a fascinating "Caption THIS!"![]()
"Honey, when I said I wanted to make out by the fire after the game, this isn't what I had in mind."

Already beat you to it.
