So it's not actually going to get to 200 million.
It's a reach for sure. It'll get to $185-190m no doubt.
Depends on if Paramount wants to stretch it out. Which it could do if it gets a 100+ days in release.

It's yet to have a 60% weekend to weekend drop.
It made $15m last weekend for the typical 3-day.
So it could roughly break down like this over the next few weeks

Memorial Day 4-day: $10m = $160m
Tue-Thur: $3m = $163
Weekend: $6m = $169/170m (X-Men First Class weekend 6/3)
Mon-Thur: $3m = $173m
Weekend: $4m = $177m (this assumes it stays under 60% drops)
Mon-Thur: $2m = $179/180m
Weekend: $2m = $182m (Green Lantern weekend 6/17)

So by mid-June this is about where it'll likely be give or take for it's 40 or so days in release.

This is before it even hits $1 theaters. It'll have one last *big* run at $$$ for the July 4th holiday before it gets under 1,000 theaters and begins the move to $theaters post 60 day in release. How long does the studio keep it out, at least 100 days I say.

"Thor" slipped to fifth this weekend earning just under ten million dollars. Captain Craig your breakdown over the next few weekends seems like a logical progression the way things are going. I suspect it will drop out of the top ten by middle of next month. There are a couple "DVD" sites projecting a release date of late Sep early Oct which makes sense.

Fifth place after 4 weekends in release with the competition that's out is very acceptable. Especially considering what it's already accomplished.

On BoxOfficeMojo the "just under $10m" seems to be just for 3days. The top of the page says: May 27-29 then under that and just before the breakdown in smaller type face it says: '4-day Memorial estimates on Monday morning'
So assuming whoever puts that page together didn't omit something or forget to change something it could do $11m for the 4 day. A bit higher than I'd hoped!!

The three-day weekend decline was just under 40%. I'd say it's at least shooting for $175 million in the U.S.

I got my figure from IMDB which updates their box office list every Sunday regardless of a Monday holiday. I assume the numbers will be readjusted accordingly on Tues.

Saw it tonight. Big thumbs up for me, Can't say it was the best superhero movie, but I didn't see any flaws in it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked the fact that they drew on multiple Thor sources for the script like what they did with Loki"s past that made him a more complex and tragic figure then just a stock villain. The love story was not overdone. The CGI was very well rendered and brought a huge sense of grandeur to the battles and to Asgard. The Destroyer was awesome. And I don't care what anybody says Kat Dennings is adorable and I love her And is there any actor luckier than Clark Gregg? He has a relatively small role, but he gets work in like a dozen pictures because of it.

Minor gripes. When they announced Elba as Heimdall I was one of the people who kind of rolled their eyes, but he was such a bad-ass presence that I really liked him. It was making Hougn so overtly Asian that I found distracting. Also Hopkins Odin was a little more overall subdued than what we are used to. But overall a must see and another gem in this continuing Marvel Universe series.

Deadline Hollywood has their 4-Day Memorial Day weekend numbers out and are predicting $12.3m for THOR. Having placed 5th over the weekend and bringing it's domestic total up to $162.3m.
5. Thor 3D (Marvel/Disney/Paramount Week 4 [3,296 Theaters]
Friday $2.4M, Saturday $3.5M, Sunday $3.6M
Three-Day Weekend $9.5M, Four-Day Memorial Holiday $12M
Cume $162.3M

THOR continues on a great pace, another success for Marvel Studios!!

Finally saw it the other night, I enjoyed it quite a bit... had some amusing moments and good eye candy. I liked the Asgard skies a lot. Hopkins didn't give in to the temptation to scenery-chew that Odin represents, and though the action scenes were a bit dark they were fun.

I've seen the movie twice, and I found it quite enjoyable. Great visuals, engaging story, interesting characters...

I give it a grade of A.

Saw the film in 3D today. The first 10 minutes gave me a headache, but when the movie finally settled down I really enjoyed it. Asgard was absolutely gorgeous... second only to the magnificent Natalie Portman. The Bridge was... wow. I haven't been wowed by anything like that in a long time. The only I thing I thought was really out of place was the giant robot thing with flames shooting out of it's pseudo helmet. I'm tired of Marvel characters having to fight giant mechanical things.

I definitely can't wait to buy the film.

This will top out short of 180 million domestically, pretty much in line with the early predictions.
It's run will take it past $180m, by how much is still a guess, but it will still have another 30 days +/- left in it's run and it'll be at $180m by the July 4th Holiday. It'll be nearly at $175m by Thursday and $177m after the weekend. Making it about $5m off of where I was hoping for, still. That leaves only $3m for a $180m total and it's not going to be done in 2-3 weeks.
