Cult films that BADLY need a remake...

One my friends played Magenta (no not in film) so she clued me into what to expect. It was fun, though another friend got pissed off because he got hit in face with a water from a water pistol. (The culprit was a girl I went to High School with, small world).

It was years before I saw RHPS without an audience. (VHS) Its not a bad film by itself.
I saw The Rocky Horror Picture Show in a theater with an audience — but as a “regular” movie when it was first released in 1975. Of course, at that time, it was just a campy, spoofy, over-the-top film adaptation of a campy, spoofy, over-the-top Broadway musical. The interactive midnight-movie thing (which I’ve never attended) started a couple of years later.

Yes, RHPS is still pretty entertaining, even as a “normal” movie (if that word applies)!

The Paul Williams connection has kept me away.
But he was an oranguatuan in a Planet of the Apes movie! That gives him automatic geek cred.
I thought that was typecasting. ;)
No, John Huston playing an orangutan in a Planet of the Apes movie was typecasting.

Seriously, what have you got against Paul Williams?

'The Bedsitting Room', http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bed-Sitting_Room_%28film%29I'll watch most anything from Spike Millligan, I'd love a remake of this, also 'The Monitors' http://www.1000misspenthours.com/reviews/reviewsh-m/monitors.htm
and finally an old film based on a Murray Leinster story, The Wailing Asteroid, the film was 'Tthe Terrornauts.' http://classicscifi.blogspot.com/2011/01/terrornauts.html
It was a lot of fun, as far as I can recall from a Saturday afternoon Creature Feature broadcast.

I dunno. I just never cared for him ever since I was kid.
Oh, is that all? I thought maybe he’d been arrested for beating up his wife or caught with kiddie porn on his computer or something.

Really, how can you dislike the man who wrote the Carpenters’ hit “We’ve Only Just Begun,” a pop classic that’s been played at thousands of tacky weddings?

^ Heck, he wrote songs for the Muppets!
Not helping change my mind. In fact, its pushing the other way. ;)

^sadly no. From Deadline NY:
Glee creator Ryan Murphy just finished an episode of his hit show that is devoted to the camp classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. By the time it airs October 26, Murphy might be in a deal to direct the feature film remake. I'm told that he's being courted by Fox 2000 to direct a remake of the 1975 musical, which has grossed north of $100 million and is considered the longest running theatrical release in film history because it still packs the faithful into midnight shows. The project is taking shape at Fox 2000, with Peter Chernin producing along with Lou Adler.
