Turns out Cyclops didn't die and Jean was a clone, created by Mr. Sinister for his evil purposes. So, they come back, escaping from Sinister's base. Sinister's secretly created and IVF baby who then gets kidnapped by a Mystery Woman, then returns from the future as Cable. He joins the X-Men who he's grown up worshipping as heroes, and proceeds to whup Sinister's ass as he tries to raise his Dread Lord, En Sabah Nur, aka Apocalypse.
and no Wolverine, cuz he's gone looking for Sabretooth, now he's recovered part of his memory and knows Saby is his bro.

I dont know about that. As much as there has been an oversaturation of that character, I think it would be a mistake to not have him in it, unless that whole search for Victor Creed is a subplot. Which would be more or less a rehash of X2 and XO:Wolverine.
X3 pretty much set him and Storm up as leaders with Beast attempting to be a liason to the government. Having him M.I.A. would just be odd. Just dont make him the focus.

I only know the cartoon, so I would use the time travel story with the guy from the future comes to prevent war or whatever. I don't remember much, but it was cool.

I'm in favour of a second trilogy that finishes on a Days of Futures Past type story that involves Cable.
X4 - Marauders Massacre; X5 - Four Horsemen story culminating in the reveal that Scott and Jean (or Maddie clone) are alive and in Sinster's lab, and finish with the baby being taken to the future by whoever; X6 - Days of Futures Past.
Spin off: Age of Apocalypse.
Days of Future Past would be cool, and would also work well as the timing is right (after 'The Phoenix Saga') and X-Men lineup in the comic story is pretty much the same as the X-Men lineup at the end of X3-
Substitute Beast for Nightcrawler, add Iceman, and its the same.
Just looking at that pic, it always pissed me off that in the promo pics for X3 they showed Angel as being on the team, yet in the movie he was in about three scenes. Escaped from his dad, briefly showed up at the mansion, rescued his dad, and then we see him flying over San Francisco at the end. Seen as the X mansion is NY he obviously didn't join them then. So lame.
I also hated that it made out Colossus would be a main player too, after his killer cameo in X2. Yet he actually said more words in that film than he did in X3-
X2- "I can help you." 4 words
X3- "She took off." 3 words
His CGI looked worse in X3 too

Darn, where did you find that pic? I've been looking for a picture like that to produce an X-man collage (just photoshop in Jean, Cyclops, Rogue, and Nightcrawler). I don't think it's easy to find a full shot of Nightcrawler or Jean in uniform though (seen briefly in the closing scene of X2).

Alan Cumming was signed for 2 movies but he hated the make-up process. In the end they felt that they had enough characters in X3 so that he could be left out. I doubt that Cumming would be keen to return but there's no reason why Nightcrawler couldn't return (maybe he's on Muir Island). You don't get a clear shot of him in X2 but he has his leather jacket and a black leather top on so I think it was meant to be his version of the uniform.

Hmmm, maybe that's more a reaction to the subject of the threads you have seen me in. Or you are confusing me with someone else.
Either way, this entire forum is a "waste of time" by it's very nature. I don't think anyone is getting paid to be here and/or enriching their or others lives that much.

The Colossus skin wasn't CGI in X3 - it was a body suit thing, instead, that the guy actually wore. I asked him about it when I met him at a scifi con in Dallas a couple of years ago.

As for Nightcrawler in X3, I read the same sort of thing - Alan Cumming didn't like the make-up process, and there was only one scene for him in the third movie, and everyone decided it just wasn't worth it, so he was written out of the movie.
i just wish they'd brought back Toad in X2 and done that Toad/Nightcrawler fight...
From the time Charles & Erik recruit Jean(X3, she was a young teen)) up until X-Men 1(her & Scott have to be near 30), there are years inbetween where Jean & Scott could of had a child and sent him away.
My movie would start with Scott Summers waking up from a nightrmare as Jean Grey gets out of the shower.
