^ LOVE that picture!
I see the argument. I still see some very childlike elements in her character, though. And it's not so much that I think Seven is still mentally like a seven-year-old, really - I mean - she's just plain old younger than Janeway. And she's still awkwardly trying to navigate things like relationships and sex in a practical way. I dunno. I read J/7. I'll read anything, really, if it's a good story! I just have a hard time really believing in it (unless it's uber, where it's more removed from show canon.) There's totally some subtext there, and a lot of intensity, and Janeway plays favorites with Seven like no tomorrow... but... I can't get past that, I guess. Seven took Kes' place in the main "daughter" role, and they make that pretty obvious.
Anyways, for all Seven's awkwardness, she seems to get along great with Tuvok. It's a shame Janeway pushed her so hard to be more human, when perhaps she would have been happier learning about Vulcan culture. I think Janeway wanted Seven to be like her more than anything. Surrogate Borg Queen indeed!
Unrelated, but I wonder if Seven was being groomed to be the next Borg Queen, then? It seems to be implied.
