"Polaris"

Having the galaxy in the sky works for the story, and compensates somewhat for the fact that we can't see the giant Galactic Barrier...because there isn't one. ;)

It won't, of course, look like the photo manip uptopic.

That sentence makes absolutely zero sense. And what difference does it make whether I'm a writer or not?

I'm going to assume you're talking about the mental imagery a well-written book creates. On that front, I would argue, what imagery works for various people is largely a matter of taste. I personally, find Christopher's books amongst the best Trek novels of recent years.
 
Reality, of course, is alot stranger than fiction. and of course, you're right, Intrepid, and wrong. It is irrelovant, right and wrong.
 
"Polaris" is being made primarily to make it. It's a labor of love from all involved. So, while ideas have been kicked around for what to do with it when it's finished, no decisions have been made or are shortly to be made regarding how it will be distributed. No sequels are currently planned, but neither are they an impossibility.

At this stage we're interested and focused upon the task of making the film, not promoting it. This is why we've released no trailers or scenes. We could, but the work of doing so at this time would take time away from the production and post-production. We'd rather work on editing the show than editing a trailer. When it's time for announcements, we'll make them.

All that said, we totally appreciate the support and enthusiasm people have shown, and are working to make the film something you'll enjoy. :D

Which is one of the best reasons to make art. I do love this new age of technology which allows for people to go out and make stuff, just because they can, be it movies, images, or books.
 
I applaud everyone involved with "Polaris" it is great when people just do something because they love it and are passionate about it. I have seen a handful of fan-productions and some are enjoyable and well done and then some are done like the people involved are going through the motions. I think if people are going to spend time and money on creating sets and having decent FX they should do their best with acting and writing the story. :bolian:

As to the storyboards, their roughness is due to the fact that the original drawings are very small (less than 3" wide), and that I'm less interested in pretty renderings than composition and movement.
