It's good to finally get some more news about the upcoming series. We've been so eagerly waiting for it in our house. I can't recall the last time a show had such a tremendously positive reaction from everyone I knew personally who had seen it.

Oooh sounds good, and I'm especially looking forward to Gatiss' take on the Hound of the Baskervilles.

My one problem is Steven Thompson writing an episode again, and particularly the third one. Ok I've only seen two examples of his work, so maybe I'm being unkind, but his episode of the first series of Sherlock was the weakest of the 3, and frankly his Who episode the other week (Curse of the Black Spot) wasn't great either...

That aside I can't wait!!

Gatiss' Baskervilles should be great.

But... They're doing The Final Problem... again? I mean, in the stories, Moriarty only appears the once, and the cliffhanger for season 1 is pretty much a modern take on the Final Problem cliffhanger - all they have to do is have Watson blown clear and assume for a while that Holmes died with Moriarty - so WTF? They're just going to end season 2 with a variation on the same basic cliffhanger?

Moffat was saying on twitter the other day they were having the first read through, I think. I'll have to watch the first lot again, and possibly attempt reading the books before the new series.

^ I watched them all again t'other day. Can't wait for the next batch. Still hate Jim's voice, though...

He was great in all other areas. Menacing, clever, all sorts of good stuff. But the voice just made me laugh.

You see, that's why he's so great. While you're pissing yourself at him, he blows up a bomb in your face.

True, it's a good disarming/distraction ploy (not that Sherlock or John seemed to notice, though) - but nevertheless... I still hate the voice. I HATES IT, I TELLS YA!

:D

Except for the episode order and who is writing what, most of this was already known. I believe Moffat spoiled this more than 6 months ago. It'll be interesting to see their attempt at doing Irene Adler and the Hound.
