Yes, I'm well aware of the extent of Sif and Thor's relationship in the comics. I wasn't talking about the comics, I was taking about in the context of the movie. Like I said, there probably wasn't time in the film to touch on anything significant between them.

movie a few hours ago. Not as good as i was hoping.
First half was great then the parts on earth and back to Asgard was kind of boring and not epic.

Though ive never read a Thor comic and no nothing about him.

To me Thor is from a race called Asgard in Stargate SG1 and Loki was a member of this race that tried to screw with Jacks Dna and clone him.
So took me awhile to get everything straight.

Back to the movie, it was so clear the second they shown the 2 younger brothers that only one can be King that the other would end up being the evil bad guy.

Note if you have a brother and if u get to be King or soon to be King, your brother will turn evil and screw you over.

And the fact Loki wore black all the time didnt help.

Movie felt like an after thought. Like hey we need to get a thor movie made before the Avengers movie so just throw something together.

Movie should of been longer , give me a reason to care about Thor and give me a reason to hate Loki. I mean Loki wasnt really bad. Just wanted to kill off those ice people. The same thing Thor wanted to do.

Movie just needed more meat and potatoes.

Though i might go see it again just for Kat Denning. Dam that girl is cute as hell.

Also take the hammer away and replace with a sword and you get HE-Man!

But was worth the $4 to see the movie.

1 thing about Captain America though, when i seen the trailer, all i was thinking was hey thats the Human Torch Johnny Storm. Why in blue hell have the actor play both roles?

Guess we cant have a Captain America/Fantastic 4 crossover.

Ah Kat Dennings!

I agree that she was more interesting and attractive than Portman in this flick.

Good. Those FF movies are shit.

Well, Thor's on track to make 20 to 30 million dollars more domestically than the first Fantastic Four movie - six years later and against a budget 50 million dollars greater than FF's that's no great shakes (as far as attendance, more folks went to see FF). OTOH, Thor is doing better than FF did internationally.

but then Thor is known by more people then the FF just by being a religious symbol alone.... along with thousands of years old.

True enough - OTOH, how many active followers does he have in the last seven hundred years, and how widespread are they? ;)

You know, some enterprising artists in a non-Christian country should start a comic book about a superhero utilizing Christian mythology this way...except, I guess, us Westerners have already parodied that to death in the last century.

Son O' God

Simple.

Thor fights trolls.
At least one troll appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Buffy Summers hunts vampires.
Jesus Christ hunts vampires in Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter.

See, connection! :D

Also, while I'm thinking about it: Buffy Summers, Jesus Christ, and Abe Lincoln would make a pretty kickass vampire hunting team.

Seriously...some of you thought the character of Darcy was more interesting than Jane Foster? I would have cut Darcy right out of the film or at least greatly reduced her role if I was director. She offered almost nothing but comedic fodder when there was already comedic moments. I'll agree that Natalie Portman was miscast for this role, but Kat was gods awful.

Yep. Kat was funny and eccentric. Portman seemed to be running on Prequel Autopilot.

Simply because a character is assigned more lines and is marginally more involved in making the plot move forward doesn't make them more interesting - their dialogue simply takes up more space on a script page.

I was so irritated when I finally saw that. Frickin' ten minutes in, Jesus put on a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt, got a piercing, and a shave and a haircut. I had a very specific desire from "Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter," and it was not "Some Guy: Vampire Hunter." Long hair, beard, biblical-style robes. Maybe an english accent. That's all they needed to do to hold my interest, but noooooo...
