wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

^ Your reaction is understandable. The Cole/Lawler stuff seems to be the centerpiece of Raw right now. I've flipped it on and it's like the middle of their show the last few weeks. I really don't know what their intention for this is. My guess is that they're struggling to come up with a way to finalize this feud and get Cole off TV?

@Timothy...I don't know why you would be surprised that Shawn Michaels' didn't appear on Raw. Shawn is retired and has no intention of returning. Besides which, he's been flying and filming stuff according to his twitter.

The thing I don't like about Raw right now is it's kind of becoming like how Smackdown was pre-wrestlemania. There was nothing to really look forward to other than Edge and ADR and I feel like Raw is getting into that same rut. We need something probably as drastic as last year when we were introduced to The Nexus to get people talking about the show. I mean if you remember that, it was talked about for several weeks and the aftermath of that was handled really well to last through the summer. It was pretty much the Must-See thing on Raw, but it got people watching Raw and actually being interested again.

Now what does the show have going for it? Miz and Cena? ZZZZZ; Lawler and Cole? Repetitive. Kharma showing up doing the same thing over and over? I haven't cared about the whole Diva thing since Torrie Wilson and Trish left. Orton is on Smackdown, so that's a loss, Big Show and Kane are getting a bit washed up to continue wrestling, and R-Truth being crazy and lighting up Cigarettes on a PG show is doing nothing for me.

It seems like the shock value is gone, and the show has nothing going for it at the moment. I wish we can have this generations Stone Cold or The Rock, but I just don't think the Talent is there. And I don't blame the whole PG thing either. I remember an interview in December with The Miz on the BS Report and he was saying that the PG era should be a good thing because it provides more of a challenge. I don't want to see a return to the extreme gratuitousness, but can we at least get PG-13? Can we get storylines that are interesting and not repeated over and over because WWE decided they don't want to develop the talent they have? If they want to go the Entertainment Route and away from Wrestling, I would think the brand needs to at least be, oh I don't know, "Entertaining?"

I know how you feel. I've not been really excited about anything WWE has done since the rumors of Sting signing!!! So that should say a lot. The Cena/Miz feud is boring, and there was no reason to have the Miz drop the title to Cena. The WWE has done themselves a disservice in my opinion by introducing this STUPID Rock Vs Cena match at Wrestlemania 28. I know Cena has had a year long title reign before. I don't think though fans can expect him to keep the belt that long when they went to so much trouble pushing Miz for so long. Sigh. As much as I'm critical of Impact Wrestling, I am frustrated at times by WWE.

I remember when Nexus first formed. WWE executed a really compelling invasion type story line. This was done way better than their nWO attempt (which wasn't really an invasion...the nwo didn't even end up doing much due to various injuries and the Hogan face turn) and the WCW/ECW invasion.

Some interesting news, the WWE is contemplating bringing back managers. We've had DIVAS as valets of course but they were never really considered managers. Sunny was probably one of the last real managers the company used. If they start doing this except to see Legends used...like Arn Anderson, etc.

Even though he's had more success as Raven, I think I've enjoyed Scott Anthony Levi's short lived Johnny Polo character more.

^ Haha...I remember that gimmick. He was goofy.

I used to have a Coliseum Video he hosted as Polo, and for the life of me I can't remember what the video was. I think it was a "Behind The Scenes" kind of thing.

Levy was a good match for Gorilla Monsoon. They did some good back-and-forth commentary together.

I like this manager idea. It puts guys on TV who can still talk (Anderson and Hayes are great examples), and that can potentially have a positive impact on younger guys who need a little something extra to grab some attention.

I found Raw to be a little dull quite frankly. The Lawler/Cole segment was entertaining, but I really am ready for this thing to be finished. The R-Truth thing has just been weird. I like Killings and have for ages, but this really doesn't seem to be his thing. He's a great in-ring performer, and he's also charismatic as hell. It's ridiculous that they can't find something better for him to do. Cena/Miz has seen some great matches but very, very uneven television. It's frustrating and kind of the nature of WWE these days.

I don't think I'll ever have as much fun watching wrestling as I did between 1997-2001, but I still like to keep up, still like to watch the shows and PPVs when I can. There's always something good going on.

I'd like to work for a indie promotion again, too. I miss that.

Sean Waltman has been telling people that he will be stating to work as a trainer with the WWE. If this sounds bizarre, it shouldn't be, he maybe a pompous ass but Sean was considered one of the best workers in the business at one point in his career.

The Pope has been named TNA Commish for their international show Xplosion.

Btw...forgot to mention that those Impact spoilers were for the next two shows.

Botchamania 171 from two weeks ago

Botchamania 172 just uploaded

Sacrifice botches included in this. It's hilarious when Mike Tenay calls the Pedigree a DDT-Style move because they're not allowed to say Pedigree. LOL.

^Nope. Tony was the TNA commentator for a long time though and even turned heel and cut a "Shoot" promo on Mike Tenay a few years ago. Zybysko hangs out with Scott Hall on his youtube channel from time to time :) LOL

I like Zybysko, but sometimes the guy seems to flying off the rails a little. That whole with Jericho and the "Living Legend" business was just insane.

Jericho rips into him in his second book quite good...and funny as well. I hated Zybysko and the fact that the first "match" WCW included Bret Hart in was the Bishoff/Larry feud.

I rember that it was a great match. that was when I started watching wcw when bret went over. I just checked my nook and his books are on there so I am going to pick them up. can't wait .

tonight we have: :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: TNA WRESTLING :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

even with spoiler given still going to watch.

I believe it was Desmond Wolfe who was named commissioner. Pope was in a match.

Yeah, I laughed at that too. Presumably he wasn't expecting it, given it isn't remotely DDT-style...

Tony was never a commentator in TNA. It's always been Mike Tenay; initially with Ed Ferrara and Don West, then after a couple of months, just West until Taz arrived. He made a random appearance one day for that shoot promo (which bored everyone to tears, as I recall) and was not brought back. Things were so random back in the weekly PPV days...

Yeah that's right...Desmond Wolfe. Sorry about that. I didn't know that was just a one day thing...seems kind of random. Yeah the crowd had no pop for that promo and just wanted it to end. I think it was included in a Botchamania episode too. Tenay shouldn't have been surprised or caught off guard by the Pedigree, it has been Joanie's only finishing move since she started in the WWE. I'm kind of surprised that Trips never taught her anything else. Or the Impact Wrestling brain trust would ask her...

"So um what's your finishing move?" "It's the Pedigree." "Yeahhhhh...um....sorry but you can't really use that." "Why not? I've used it since I started." "That's the problem. We don't have the rights to call it the Pedigree. You're gonna have to learn something else." "I don't wanna. Paul taught it to me." "Yeah well he's not here. You're gonna have to learn something else." "Can't you just call it something else? Like...maybe a DDT-style move?" "That might work, sure!" Sigh.

Here is a short interview with a former WWE writer who describes the atmosphere of working for the McMahon family...says it's like a "cult" and the demand of quality each week is obviously very intense.

"Random" was the only way to describe the weekly PPVs. They ranged from awful to brilliant, often within minutes, and you never knew who would turn up each week. It was incredibly inconsistent, but so compelling.

The promo between Roode and Flair was terrific, and I loved the ending to Impact. The rest of the show was pretty mixed though.
