PS3 firmware 3.61 is out.....The PSN is still under maintenance when you install it but according to the PS3 blog its in advance of the PSN returning.

I just heard about it a few minutes ago when a friend of mine just told me over MSN hes downloading it looks like PSN could be back sunday or Monday at this rate...ah some sweet Uncharted 2 at last.

Yep, looks like they're doing it in stages, the Americas, then Europe, then Down Under...

In the CBC article I was reading, it mentioned a 1 billion dollar lawsuit was filed in Canadian courts on behalf of 1 million Canadian users... uh... no-one asked me. So how is it on my behalf?

Just changed my password and signed in. Store is still offline, but I'm in the process of synching my trophies, which is taking a while 'cause I've earned a fair few while PSN has been down.

It's a start.

I got e-mail prompt to change my password but waiting for the e-mail still, it seems the e-mail method takes time from what I read on other forums. My other friend got to change his password at his console GIT

EDIT - I think it cause I created my PSN account on my friends console way before I got a PS3 so when I tried to log in via my console it went via the e-mail route instead of password change at the console.

I got the update and changed my password, and I plan on checking Netflix for tomorrow.

I get to the "You must change your PW" screen, hit "Ok" and get error 80710D36... fortunately for me, I'm not alone. A buddy called me about it and a quick google search shows tonnes of twitter posts about the same thing. So... still not there yet.

It looks like the e-mail way of resetting your password is for users whose never brought anything from PSN store, not sure why they went that route? but as long as I get my password by tommorow then I'll let em off

(EDIT) Sony just released a statement...

Some of you have mentioned that you have not received your password reset emails. With the huge number of people coming back online at the same time and resetting their passwords, it is creating significant email traffic to ISPs. The consequence is that some of the ISPs are throttling the emails.

We are currently trying to resolve this, but in the meantime please be patient and refrain from submitting multiple requests. You will receive you reset email and be able to get back to enjoying your online gaming

I downloaded and installed the patch, got the email from Sony to their website and change my password. That website is down.

I don't think Netflix has ever gone down, I've been using it since this whole thing first started.

I got a few errors but kept trying and eventually was able to get my password changed and entered into PSN.
