They're not doing one for every episode. In fact I think there's only 3 being done for the whole season.

Well, I know about the Nixon prequel for 'The Impossible Astronaut' and just watched the pirate one for 'The Curse of the Black Spot'.

What's the third? I can't seem to find it anywhere...

This episode was bloody fantastic! Geronimo!!!!!!!!

So sad the swimming pool got deleted, was hoping to see it again.
Actually, in Paradise Towers (if I recall), a conversation between Mel and the Doctor reveals that he jettisoned the swimming pool because it was leaking. Presumably it would be on Eleven's list of things to put back. Can't have River jumping off of buildings without a swmming pool to save her.

Wouldn't it be nice if from now on the Doctor pulls the Tardis door open rather than pushes?
To quote Buffy, "A world of 'No'". Maybe if he's in a rush to get out of the ship, but only in the direst of emergencies. The Peter Cushing TARDIS had outward-opening doors and it just looked wrong. Mileage may vary, of course. :)

I really enjoyed this one. It's the first episode of the series I can say that about. My girlfriend really liked it too (although I had to pause it once or twice to explain a few things). I tend not to analyze things on the first viewing, I just go with my "gut" and this one was about a 9/10 for an initial impression.

Do you suppose it would have been too much to have Hugh Laurie provide the disembodied voice?

Prove it, and we'll believe you.

This one was *great*. A fanboy episode in the truest sense, with plenty for the lay-fan too. Loved it.

It was pretty much a 'nothing' episode. Nothing really happened, nothing was gained from this episode and we learnt pretty much nothing about the characters. *yawn*

Plus it was a cheesy, fanwanky, mess of an episode. Seriously? The Tardis inhabits a lady! Ooo!!! Fan-fucking-tastic. It's the sort of thing a nine year old with dementia would come up with. Almost as bad as 'Fear her' or 'Love and Monsters'

Huh, only 4 options? And why's the poll not public? I'd like to see which posters vote for what.
Anyway, I voted "Good" because it was well made and I liked some elements of it - especially the interaction between the Doctor and the TARDIS on the planet and the part with Amy and Rory in the corridor - but it ultimately left me somewhat cold. Maybe I should wait for the next Doctor?

You may have to. I understand how difficult it is to enjoy the show 100% when there's a Doctor you don't like, even if the episode is stellar. I fell in love with the show all over again when Tennant finally left and Matt Smith took over.

I think it's more of a producer thing because I really liked him in the Sarah Jane Adventures two-parter. Also, I don't actually dislike him but I don't ultimately care about him and his companions.
What really bugs me is that I can't put my finger on the reason why. At first I thought it was because he followed my favourite Doctor but then, when I continued watching the old show, Jon Pertwee became my almost favourite Doctor and I fully expected to dislike Tom Baker but I didn't at all, on the contrary, he's great.
Maybe I'm not a dark fairytale kind of person although I liked the atmosphere of The Eleventh Hour a lot.

Based on the poll numbers as of this morning, the top 2 categories account for 95% of voters here. It's not scientific but that's still remarkable. Does the "keeper of the polls" know if this might be an overnight record for a DW episode? I don't even remember Blink being so highly regarded. (Nor voices of dissent sounding so much "alone in the wilderness".)

Nice little character moment was the image that flashes up when Amy is trying to telepathically project "delight" as part of the password... her wedding day. :)

The Blue Peter TARDIS console actually looked blooming brilliant!

Oh yeah, the slapped-together console looked really good. Too bad there aren't any more Timelords around, the red column would be fitting for a somewhat disreputable Timelord's TARDIS, like the Corsair's.

"What's your name, what do I call you?"

"You call me sexy!"

"That's only when we're alone!"

Love it! About time that they did this! Has anyone seen the Fifth Doctor story "Castrovalva?" In that one the Doctor mentions that there is a darkness at the heart of the TARDIS. Could The House end up being that darkness? I know that he's come into the show after Castrovalva, but due to the time-transcendent nature of the TARDIS I imagine that a non-corporeal being that merges with or infects the TARDIS would stretch both ways in time.

Yeah I agree the Blue Peter console wasn't bad at all. Thought it looked pretty cool...and the scene with the console materializing inside the actual Tardis was awesome.

You must have been watching something else and not "The Doctor's Wife". We learn TONS about the Doctor and TONS about what we always speculated about, that the TARDIS was sentient. We learned that one of Amy's fears is how Rory feels about her being away for long proofs of time, and that Rory remembers (and feels) the 2000 years he waited.

Maybe you watched last weeks episode by mistake. It was a fun pirate romp, but no character development.
