Re: Game of Thrones Episode 1.4 - "Cripples, Bastards and Broken Thing
Good, not as good as the last one but better than the first two. The pacing was much better but it seemed to dwell on things I didn't find as important as scenes they kind of rushed in the earlier episodes. But I'm still glad they're giving time for characters and events to develop.
Some of the changes I liked, others I didn't so much but I'm guessing they've done it so as to not have characters progress too quickly. I'm curious why they left certain details out, such as Jon Snow actually asking Tyrion to do whatever he can for Bran when he visited Winterfell. As it stands it feels kind of contrived that he shows up to just hand them schematics to a saddle. I liked the little conversation between Jamie and Jory outside the king's chamber though.
Overall a decent episode but I wonder if people who were expecting snow zombies and sex all the time are getting bored with all the talking that went on in the episode. Knowing there are only 6 episodes left kind of makes me sad. They're going to have to pack so much insane crap on these next six, yet there's still so much left to go in following seasons and those wont get made for so many years. I wonder if the show will have a huge following then and become a cultural phenomenon, or if it'll just be somewhat of a niche show like Deadwood or The Wire was, with everyone watching it just raving about it but no one else really rushing to watch it.
