The Federation's advances of time based tech.

How come there are only visits from timeships and agents from around the 29th century? Wouldnt the tech. continue to increase over time, and there would be "new" temporal agents? Unless there was some major event around that time that stops this from happening...

The creators of the technology always found it neccessary to destroy eventually, constantly chasing themselves and their own tails (mistakes) into the past until they never existed at all, erased and trapped in another alternate reality and dimension alive but in the future or past.

They're not all from the 29th century. Someone from the 26th century went to the 22nd and got his timeship stolen by Rasmussen who then went to the 24th century in TNG. The Vorgons were from the 27th. Mr Daniels was from the 31st.

And for all we know, there could be people from future points, but their methods of blending in would be so perfect they'd be unnoticeable.

The answer is simple. They got tired of time travel stories. Like Q said in EAF, you're all guilty no matter how you slice it, like it or not. Spock is guilty and responsible for Vulcan's post atomic horrors as well.

Is it only me that would like to see a Captain Robert April t.v series, with cameos by Cris Pike and less time travel.

I just can’t help thinking that the crew of the Enterprise would be stifling giggles every time they mentioned the name “Captain April.”

(Just kidding. There’s nothing wrong with the name April. It’s a very manly name . . . :p )

One of the factions detonated some sort of chroniton weapon in the part of spacetime that corresponds to the latter half of the 31st century. Since then (and before then, too, since it works that way), no time travel has been possible from points before it to points after it, or vice versa. The only way to get past it is to live through the time it occurred in, in real time. It might be possible to time travel forward to just before, wait, and then jump further forward after the explosion - but you could never return, which makes it mostly irrelevant to our heroes of the 22nd-26th centuries.

I'd suggest anyone interested in this read the new Star Trek novel DTI: Watching the Clock by Christopher L. Bennett. The multiple future factions involved in time travel play a major role.

Nice one, Triumphant. That's yours, I presume.

Considering the state of Earth in the 31st century ("Shockwave"), I'm not suprised we haven't seen travellers from further ahead. The idiots probably destroy and un-destroy the poor planet several times a week with their tampering. People further ahead don't exist long enough to do anything :p

This is the problems doing a show about time traveling... How can you be sure of anything?
