A rubber chicken has become the mascot of a NASA science mission..

“People ask, ‘what does a rubber chicken have to do with a science mission?’, but as long as we get people’s attention, we can then divert it to what SDO does,” said Romeo Durscher, Camilla’s PR assistant and ‘bodyguard.’ “However, we didn’t know it would go this far when we started this.”

I find it kind of sad that we have to use a rubber chicken to get peoples attention about science. but.. i still like it.

The article says they plan to send it to space in a balloon.
 
There's no pulley in the middle. I'm not convinced that NASA is on the cutting edge of science.
 
^ Heh, fair enough. It's just hard for me to think of rubber chickens and Monkey Island without automatically appending "with a pulley in the middle." :lol:
