Star Trek Vegas Convention 2011

Thought I would create a thread dedicated to the forthcoming annual Trek event in Vegas. Any thoughts on announced guests? Anyone not yet on the list who you would be interested in meeting? As of today, John Cho has signed on. Anyone care to share their past experiences? I am contemplating a possible visit on the Sat/Sun of the con. However, I would have to attend myself due to the fees, involving not only the convention but also the travel and lodging.

Oh yeah baby! Meeting up with some friends from back home! I'll be coming all the way back from Korea for all four days of the convention. Can't wait!

Just bought the plane tickets, weekend passes and hotel room yesterday!

I went last year for the first time and fell in love with it. It was such a great feeling to be around trek people. I felt like I could spark up a conversation with anyone. I was really bummed that I came in on Friday and left on Sunday. It wasn't enough time! This year I'll be adding 2 extra days onto the trip.

Although the guest lineup seems a bit thin at the moment I'm sure a lot more celebs will confirm in the coming months. It's the 45th anniversary for goodness sakes!

Last year I attended the DS9 breakfast. It was a hoot! A bunch of the stars were there and came around to each table for 5-10 minutes for private conversations with the table. It was soooo much fun to personally meet Nana, Combs, Robinson, etc. Sadly, this event is not happening this year. I'm considering trying the Klingon lunch though.

I'm excited!

iamtosk, you should check the website again! There are a ton of guests coming, and they are indeed hosting the DS9 breakfast again. The tickets are $99, and I just bought a couple for my friend and I. I went to the DS9 breakfast last year, too, and I thought it was amazing! The niners at the breakfast this year are Terry Farrell, Rene Auberjonois, Nana Visitor, Armin Shimerman, Max Grodenchik, Jeffrey Combs, Casey Biggs, Nicole deBoer, and Vaughn Armstrong. It's being held on Friday morning. Seriously, check the website!

Cool, hopefully see you there! I'm originally from Canada, spending two years in Korea teaching English. It'll be nice to get back to North America for a few days and hang out with some fellow Trekkies!

I'm loving all the Classic Trek guests but I'm hoping John Billingsley will be there as he's the only regular cast member from all the Trek shows whose autograph I haven't got.
