Naa, Sanctuary has already been renewed. I think they're trying to help some show that is failing badly by giving it the wrestling lead-in (I forget the name), but the fact that they seem to be risking Sanctuary to do it is baffling. They don't seem to realise how damaging these schedules changes are.

Is the new Friday show the one David Hewlett is narrating? I think its called urban legends

And improvement of 27 percent. Clearly the Sam Carter fan club has some clout.

Sanctuary was the lead-out, not the lead-in, and Sanctuary pulled even worse numbers than SGU.

That's around a 600k loss for Sanctuary after the day change. Just more evidence of Syfy's scheduling genius

I don't know if this was a good idea but the truth is at least they're trying something. I don't get the fan hate for Syfy.

The only visible things we see from them are their scheduling, their promotion and their programming itself. Their promotion has always been dire, how that voice-over guy is still in a job is beyond me. Their scheduling is rapidly becoming as bad as their promotion, with shows being moved around at the drop of a hat and haemorrhaging viewers, niche serialized shows being broken up and aired against the toughest competition. It's farcical at times. And the programming itself it's gradually becoming more and more mainstream with reality TV and wrestling, and completely devoid of serious science fiction. I think it's no wonder everyone is starting to hate them.

Is he narrating that cheesy show? It's way too easy to tell which ones are the urban legends. They had the Santa-stuck-in-the-chimney one and the poodle-in-the-microwave one in the SAME EPISODE! If they trot out the albino alligators, I'm deleting the whole show from my DVR.

No, the name change was done so they could get Wrestling and crap like cooking shows on; and as long as thy had SOME miniscule 'fantasy or science fiction' gimmick, no longer be lambasted for being 'off genre'.

Sfi-Fi (aka Science Fiction) is a legetimite genere.

'SyFy' is Bonnie Hammer doing whatever the f*** she feels like as shes outright stated she doesn't really like or get science fiction. (Yet she's still in charge of the cable channel.)

I don't watch enough of Sy Fy to care.
I'm sure as heck not going to analyze their scheduling for stupidity. What would be the point, so I could blame them for the demise of Stargate...Someone already has that fault and it's not Sy Fy...

I don't suppose there's anything precluding it, but I don't think there's any real will to do it either. Hopefully Brad Wright can either be convinced to take the Whedon route and make comics to resolve the story, or else release his notes to MGM so they can make a novel continuation. I wouldn't hold my breath on either though I'm afraid.

Seeing as how anime refers to animation created by Japan, it isn't an option at all.

Now if you mean animation, than I suppose it's possible but highly unlikely. The whole point of SGU was to create a realistic, dark, adult show and turning that into Avatar: The Last Airbender isn't going to connect with the same audience. There is that whole stigma of "cartoons are for kids" to overcome and SG:U is not going to be the show to do that.

I do agree though, that animation wouldn't make the show any more financially worthwhile to the Producers/distributors
