What kind of phone do you have?

there's no contacts list, just the People Hub which brings in your facebook and email contacts. some people don't like this but I love it. I didn't have to enter any of my contacts in when I got the phone . . . I just synced with my facebook and google accounts.
also didn't have to set up my calendar . . . just synced it with google

I assumed that Outlook's contacts and calendar would sync directly with WP7 and get imported into both the calendar and the People hub? Is that not the case?

I have no idea how to answer that question. We made phones play the ST communicator sound while coming up out of a subway terminal. No one even looked.

Nope, it syncs contacts and calendar with whatever email service you use, can be Windows Live or Gmail or Yahoo... and of course it automatically imports the entirety of your Friends list from Facebook if you decide to link to it.

Nope, it syncs contacts and calendar with whatever email service you use, can be Windows Live or Gmail or Yahoo... and of course it automatically imports the entirety of your Friends list from Facebook if you decide to link to it.

Similar specs to my phone, better camera, slightly faster cpu...but no 4g and a much less powerful battery.

How in God's name do you know that people were laughing at you? It's no different from when my co-workers recognize one of my ringtones (be it the Ghostbusters theme, a Law & Order theme, a Leonard Cohen song, or whatever else I use), and they let out a knowing laugh. It's saying, "Hey, that's cool." If you think random strangers actually give enough of a shit to mock you over a cell phone ringtone, you have even more issues than you let on. The average person would not, in fact, just as soon spit on you rather than look you in the face and give you a smile. I mean, jeez, the way you act, if someone out of the blue offered you a $20 out of a random act of kindness, you'd come here and think that the stranger thought you were poor.

Anyway, I have a first-generation Motorola Droid. Nice phone, and I like the OS for the most part, but the Droid's specs really hamper it -- I got it in April 2010, and I really should have waited a month or so until the Incredible launched (no way was I getting the Eris). The lack of RAM kind of sucks, and it really tanks when more than a few applications are open at a time. Anyway, I can upgrade as soon as December, so I'll probably get the iPhone 5 or whatever Android's new hotness is at that time.

So I bought a Go phone to put my SIM card in until I'm eligible for an upgrade.

Now that AT&T is no longer supporting 2G I think I get a free upgrade.

None of those things are so routinely a target as Trek is. We all know that Trekkies are laughed at. Hell, Roger Nygard made two FILMS out of it.
