Why does Doctor Who do so much location shooting? Do they not know how to build and use soundstages in Cardiff or something?

There's a lot that can be done now with greenscreen and virtual location shoots, like this. If the BBC were serious about keeping spoilers under wraps, they wouldn't film the show out in the bloody open.

Interesting vid. It'll be cost I'd wager. Would be nice to see more visually interesting scenery though...

If this turns out to be true...I don't mind it. The fact is the majority of us will be disappointed with whoever River turns out to be.

Indeed. That's why I haven't bothered to speculate who River might be. I'd only be setting myself up for disappointment when it is revealed.

For a similar reason, I didn't speculate on the identity of the final Cylon on BSG.

Something that has been bugging me ever since I began watching "Torchwood", but...... the cartoon in this picture as well as the flying creature at Torchwood, I always thought those were called "Pteranodons" and not "pterodactyls". That it's the former which has the pronounced crest and not the latter.

Anyone able to clarify this?

Pterodactyl is now an archaic term for pterosaurs. While on the other hand a Pteranodon is a specific species of pterosaur.

All Mesozoic flying reptiles are pterosaurs, regardless of crest.

So the sign is technically correct in its association of the image with a pterodactyl.

Not to mention that most speculation theories to me at least always sound like wouldn't it be cool if... theories with those who propose them ignoring things that give even the slightest doubt to it actually happening.
