Does anyone else think the astronaut who eventually kills the Doctor is the Doctor himself? "I know who you are..." The 'current' doctor dons the spacesuit and goes to 2011 to keep everything 'preordained' and thus ensure that everything River and Amy saw still happens and preventing any damage to the timeline?

I like the aliens. Interesting makeup and concept and executed far more chillingly than the Unforgettable episode of Voyager that this reminded me of.

^ Didn't expect the regen to occur so early? Were people expecting one at all!? I thought he was going to regenerate into Mark Sheppard, such is my spoiler-free world!

Bloody loved it. The Silence are horrible.

Alright episode. The Silence were good, but I think as the first of a two-parter, I'm more intrigued at what's going to happen next week rather than what just happened.

First part feels quite average. Hopefully we'll get something good to wrap (most of) this up.

Given that the BBC released pictures of the Regen last night and I'm not spoilerphobic, I took a look as it's all down to context and I expected the Regen to occur as the cliff hanger of part one.

Uh oh, not sounding good so far...

Well for me, it was a good episode, not as good as some, but still far better than others. I am in a foul mood though because of the weather and struggling to manage my blood sugars. "Your milage" may be different though, you may love it when it's on in a few hours.

Well that was not so great, I won't do spoilers, but quite frankly the show has lost its spark.

And why not, it's a review thread with spoiler in the title, if people complain about spoilers, just laugh at them. That's what I do.

Oh, some other thoughts.

Loved the I'm a screamer comment from River and the not enough comment about Nixon and what he did well.

Also loved the "hippie" and "arciologist" interaction between the two of them aswell.

On further thought and as I said up top, it was ok, just not brilliant.

It was Ok, I loved the fact that they used suspense instead of giant monsters. (If that makes sense)

But overall, not a lot happened in this episode.

Excellent though that could be just the fanboy voting at the sight of Doctor Who being back so it might slip to an Above Average grade in repeat viewing..However very good :techman:

Its of course part 1 of 2 so its hard to judge but the start of the episode really upped the stakes of the entire season. It had wonderful humor and the big bad looks interesting, makes me think they want to become the next generation of Time Lords.

The ending was WTF...next week is going to rock.

I enjoyed it - although I am wondering how they'll deal with the GREAT BIG THING THAT HAPPENED without a timey-wimey reset. Nice to see the TARDISy thing from The Lodger (maybe not the same one, but still) making a reappearance - I was wondering if that would show up again. Intriguing!

Hated it. Found it boring and far too Americanised. Not to mention seeing the big oncoming Voyager-esque reset button.

However going to hold off voting I guess, I voted excellent for the pandorica opens which was ruined by the second part.

Perhaps the reverse will happen here.

really really surprised at the comments so far... haven't seen it yet myself, still waiting till I can this evening.... i'm surprised to hear it might be too "Americanized" what does that mean exactly?

Lots of Americans. I thought the story was very much like an episode of L O S T compared to the previous five seasons openings which were one off episodes which set the tone for the season. I'd hate to see DW turn into a story arced show, rather than what was done for the past few seasons with standalone stories with the odd hint/arc thrown in.

I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to next weeks episode. Creepy bad guys, funny lines and intriguing set up, what more can you ask for?

well it was "good" but way too many questions without answers right from the first minute, to really give a proper opinion or view on it, and im not even sure we will get all the answers next week.

Over reaching theory, but when people enter the crack, they are forgetten, after people see the Silence they forget, the Silence were responbile for the TARDIS blowing up causing the cracks.

Time maybe rewritten, but I suspect someone will have to let the Doctor continue to live, I dont know if that is the Silence or something else.

Really enjoyed it, an extremely strong start to the season for me. First time I've watched a Who episode over again immediately for ages.

It really would, especially like LOST and judging from how they handled last seasons arc.

Also the space suit stuff reminded me of Babylon 5.
