...48 times??? No offense but how can you watch a film that many times? I don't even think I've seen any film in my lifetime that many times.

Yes. How many times do you watch your favorite episode of Star Trek? Nothing beats seeing something on a huge screen and TMP looked great in the theatre and at the time that was the only new Star Trek available. I had the means and saw it when I wanted to so I did. I saw the original SW at least as many times. I was also 14 at the time and loved Star Trek.

I was eight, and I cried. Then within a short time, WTCG (now TBS) started showing TOS every evening at 6 and 7, and there were more people watching it than ever before.
