According to multiple sources, Lis Sladen passed away earlier today from cancer.

She was my first Doctor Who companion, and my first Doctor Who crush, and I think I'll go home tonight and watch "School Reunion."

Sleep well, Ms. Sladen.

Other than this thread, and a six pager on the Galifrey boards I can't find anything. Just checked the BBC site and did a Google news search and still nothing yet.
