Voyager- A Landing Starship

Was anyone else dissapointed with the whole "Voyager can land on planets" concept?
Great, a starship weighing tonnes can land, and we have shuttles and trasporters for...?
to me i found it was a imagonitive idea, but dissapointing at the same time :/

i wished they made it a little more convincing though, think about it in reality for a moment, if it were all real, do you really think that a starship as heavy as that would be propped up by those tiny landing struts?
i would have enjoyed it more if it was more compensating to gravity etc, but i will agree it was enjoyable

Voyager's little chicken feet were ridiculous. The saucer-heavy ship would have tipped forwards.

I believe they are stupid, look at how small they are, are you really saying something weighing that much could be proppd up by those tiny struts?!!!

There are smaller things that can hold up massive objects.

And we don't know what kinds of metals they will have in the future. So as far as we know, and are meant to assume, those landing struts are made of metal that can hold a trillion pounds on each one.

It helps if you think outside of the box with Trek, and Star Wars too.

Like weapons, those wouldn't be able to be fired accurately in space.

In that picture, I'm wondering why the ground isn't collapsing under Voyager's weight, especially since its weight is concentrated on those chicken feet.

Maybe its just me equatin' the heavy end of a car to be the end that has the motor in it, but I would think that engineering and the warp nacelles would weigh more than the saucer, which would comprise the bulk of the crew quarters (empty space).

Also, those are some bad ass landin' struts.

And we don't know what kinds of ground they will have in the Delta Quadrant. So as far as we know, and are meant to assume, the planets are made of solid neutronium and can hold a ship of a trillion pounds.

Do you real believe when a ship blows up, there's fire in space?
Does it really make sense for Voyager to be more streamlined to be faster even though there's no friction in space?
Do you really believe people can be broken down on a molecular level and be reassembled alive?

If you can suspend belief on all that, then yes. Those tiny supports can hold Voyager. The question we should be asking is: Once it lands, how does the crew get to the ground?

......and where the Hell is the door to the Delta Flyer???
