Mothers Day, or Mothering Sunday ~ whatever

K'Ehleyr

Well I had a great one ~ Laughing at Men trying to cook breakfast.
On the edge of seat moto GP race ~ I actually cried out "You f***ing Dick Head" at one point and the women on a happy Mother's Day walk outside my flat stopped and stared! LOL.
Cocktails at Wabi and late lunch at Carmella's with Son.

Now bath with lotions and potions and a sip of rose wine that my lovely son bought for me ~ All is well :)

What did you do for your Mother or what did your children do for you?

Sounds like you had a lovely day, K'Ehleyr. I am not a mother and I'm not in contact with my mother, so Mother's day passes without any real interaction from me. My husband and I sent his mother a card and we picked out a nice vase from when were in Cornwall the other day to take her when we see her.

The United States celebrates Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May.

I will send some flowers or a gift to my Mom, and have a lovely, long phone chat, (as I'm seeing her Easter Weekend and probably won't make the drive up again for some time). I will probably spend this Mother's with my Mother in Law (the old bat), and sit there while she oohs and ahhs over her gift, which I will have picked out, purchased and wrapped. She will proceed to totally ignore me, aside from a few fat jokes, while she thanks Hubby for the wonderful present. She will then proceed to run down and insult her sister for the next hour, talking about how fat and disgusting she is---interspersed with sideways glances to me, as she emphasizes words like "useless" and "cow."

Gosh, what a good time it will be. :vulcan:

Oh, thank god. I never forget these things yet I thought Mother's Day was today in the U.S. There's still time!
Oh, and to all of you wonderful, lovely ladies across the pond, Happy Mother's Day!

Sounds like a laugh riot, auntiehill! Any chance you can take an iPod and pretend to check the weather while actually posting on here? :D

Sent my ma a gift over in England for probably the first time since we moved! Usually she gets something on the Canadian day in May - all the early British reminders help me get organised by May

I sent my mom flower's last Mother's Day. I feel like I've set a precedent. I will never be able to not send her flowers now.

My heart skipped a beat! Fortunately, in the United States, Mother's Day isn't until Sunday, May 8th, 2011.

I'm here to remind you :)

Mothers and Daughters ~ very tricky.

The guy taking over from me at work was late on Friday and all I could think of was 'I have to buy a card and get it in the post so it arrives in time, otherwise I'm going to have to take the trip into "Nowhereville" and make polite conversation whilst she talks about the fornicating pheasants :wtf:.
I was on my knees in the supermarket writing out the card and chatting to a neighbour who just appeared and then had to run to catch the postie.

Hope MIL loves the vase, Cornwall pottery is fab! :)

:guffaw:Oh Auntie I feel for you!

I did actually give Son the opportunity of dipping out of taking me for dinner but he insisted and we had a riot.

We have the same sense of humour ~ which obvoiusly helps.

:D It was ~ slips off her chair due to too manu gigallo martinis (and can't spell and doesn't care ~ more Martini...)

Take td's advice ~ excellent plan!

Right ~ to finish of the night... Cleopatra or Poker?...

I was remarkably prepared for this Mother's Day. I got her the card this Tuesday, which is far more than I normally do

I finished off a project I'd been doing for my mum for a while and sent it to her. I also sorted out her iPod Shuffle with some music.

Jaytrek did the cooking tonight for her. (because I can't cook to save my life, and he's done a course in Catering)

:techman:.

Maccaroni Cheese & a Cake. She loved both :D.

Breakfast in bed consisted of some of the contents of the box of chocolates my sons gave me. I then had a lovely long bath with the bath goodies my daughter got me and then, best of all, I assembled the Harry Potter Quidditch match Lego set all 3 bought for me. My kids are awesome. :)

Auntie, aren't mother-in-laws from hell a treat? :vulcan: Every time I have to meet up with mine I wonder what I did wrong in my previous life to deserve the majority of my in-laws.

I admit to having a laugh at all the panicking people across the pond, because I'm evil.

I just about choked thinking, how have I missed extracting the goods from the offspring?! It's May 8th in Aus too.

Last year I bought myself something and wrapped it as mr. teacake is quite fail at this stuff and IMO I should be extracting as much lux goods as possible. Actually I better start planning for this now..

Some years ago I got World of Warcraft for mother's day and I think they may have regretted that one, "make your own dinner it's raid night".

I phoned me mam to wish her a Happy Parental (Female) Yearly Celebration, and used my knowledge of computerings to assist her in Figuring Out How To Forward Emails. So now she knows.

Obviously. What could be worse than World Of Warcraft? I don't get why so many people play that game...
