I've already ReBooted TOS, VOY and ENT, so I thought I would give DS9 a bash (not that it needs it). Thoughts, feedback and opinions are all welcome. All the ranks are the ones they have when they first come onboard:
Commanding Officer - Commander Chakotay - Human - Male
A quiet, patient and precise man, he is an up-and-comer in the ranks. He is assigned to DS9 as he grew up along the Cardassian border and knows the politics of the region. I planned that in mid-S3, Chakotay would turn rogue, betray Starfleet and join the Maquis to fight for his homeworld. After that he would then become a recurring ally / adversary (depending on the situation).
Commanding Officer - Captain Benjamin Sisko - Human - Male
Much like the Sisko from the series, though without the Emissary stuff. After Chakotay joins the Maquis, he is assigned to take over, but finds a serious mess to clear up. He has a lot of work to do to get the station back on track, which isn't made any easier with Kira being even more hostile than before.
First Officer - Major Kira Nerys - Bajoran - Female
A fiesty and passionate woman, she works towards the betterment of Bajor and doesn't believe that Starfleet has any right to be there. Her 'personal' relationship with Chakotay slowly changes her mindset, until he betrays her. Sisko then has his hands full and has to work a lot harder to win over her trust.
Strategic Ops Officer - Lt. Commander Martin Madden - Human - Male
He joins at the start of S4 (with Pazlar), in order to keep an eye on the Cardassians, Maquis and also what is happening on the station. Though his arrival is met with a great deal of suspicion. He is a thorough and dedicated officer, who is more than willing to stand up to both Sisko and Kira.
Chief Science Officer - Lieutenant Jadzia Dax - Trill - Female
She is the adventurous old soul in a young woman's body, full of life and forever searching for new experiences. This Dax won't be killed (or if she did, her host wouldn't be Ezri--as she is onboard my Voyager).
Chief Medical Officer - Lieutenant Selar - Vulcan - Female
The reserved and logical Vulcan doctor onboard, she is forever at the mercy of Dax's attempts to get her to loosen upand relax a little.
Station Counsellor - Lieutenant JG Melora Pazlar - Elaysian - Female
She comes aboard at the start of S4, following Chakotay's betrayal and the negative impact that has had on the station. She will have her work cut out for her. Her character is much the same as the canon one; strong-willed, independent and needs a wheelchair in order to get around.
Chief Tactical Officer - Ensign Julian Bashir - Human - Male
A brilliant young officer, who almost beat the record for the highest Academy record, if it weren't for one wrong answer in his finals. He is suave and smooth, with a keen tactical mind. Like the canon Bashir, he too will be genetically enhanced, though there will be very subtle hints about this, until it is revealed.
Chief of Operations - Senior Chief Miles O'Brien - Human - Male
He will be just as he is in the canon series, very human in how he looks at and handles life.
Chief of Security - Odo - Shape Shift - Male
Like O'Brien, not much about him would be different. Seeing as how the series would be very different for the canon one, I'm not sure how much Dominion involvement there would be. He would definately find his home though, but was thinking it had been obliterated, and he was the last (known) member of his species.
Bar Owner - Quark - Ferengi - Male
Quark is Quark. What more is there to say?
Station Resident - Jacqueline Sisko - Human - Female
Sisko's teenaged daughter, who he is raising alone after his wife was killed at Wolf 359. Jackie won't follow her father into Starfleet, but will become a reporter, and the friendship between her and Nog may become something more as they get older.
