As per the discussion upthread, you may tweak your entry, or change it entirely, anytime during the entry period.
From the current version of the contest OP:
I revised the OP after about 30 minutes from the start of the contest, because I realized that I forgotten to mention that media images were admissible.
Since film and television are mediums that could convey a communication of historical significance, I was forced to allow media images in order to permit such entries, as for example, a clip of some show or movie watched by hundreds of millions. Or, alternately, a clip from a TV show might depict some historically significant method of communication. These were my original rationalizations for allowing media images.
However, once allowing media, it seemed that there was no point in splitting hairs, in an overly complicated way, for a contest whose primary purpose is to inspire reflection on a topic central to what it means to be human. Only by being fun can the contest have a chance to succeed in being inspirational.
Therefore, your entries are acceptable.
For example, Locutus's entry is from CE3K, one of the leading blockbusters from the 1970's, undoubtedly seen worldwide by many tens of millions, or more, and in December 2007,
Feedback on these points is welcome, but please, it's supposed to be fun.
All entries may be revised or tweaked an unlimited number of times before entry, and I shall be careful to refresh my browser when constructing the poll.

So, the CE3K entry is an historically significant communication about communication that certainly entertained and possibly inspired millions, it did not seem to abuse the intent of the contest, and therefore I ruled it acceptable.
