CAPTAIN AMERICA-shooting July 2010:Casting, Rumors, Pics till release

Re: CAPTAIN AMERICA-shooting July 2010:Casting, Rumors, Pics till rele

We know that Alan Silvestri is composing the score for the film right? For some reason I just stumbled upon this earlier this evening.

This thing looks better and better. CA and GL may do it as far as my tolerable annual dosage of comic book movies is concerned.

I'm more excited for this movie than I am for "Thor".

I am too. To be honest, Thor doesn't excite me all that much atm.

Yeah, Thor looks fairly tacky. Everything new that comes out for Captain America, though, looks better and better. This could do Iron Man business, at least in the U.S.

While I hate what they've done with the costume, everything else looks pretty good.
Cool to see Dum Dum Dugan in there!

Question: Why do WWII dramas made today always look like costume stories? Watch any 1940s movie, and people look right at home in their clothes, hats and all. But all these people - especially the soldiers, whose uniforms are all EXACTLY the very same color - look like they're playing dress-up.

^ Because everyone knows the forties were in black and white . . . .

Fuck yeah!

Love the scene with the trash can shield. Oh, and "Now, Mr. Stark."

Looks like "Dum Dum" Dugan there to the right of Cap as they come through the door shooting.

And of course WWII stories now are "costume stories" in the same sense as historicals about the Revolutionary War, etc. Fewer and fewer people remember the era - and after all, if Captain America were defrosted in 1964 or thereabouts, as he originally was, he'd be an old man today.

I got goosebumps when Steve tosses the shield at the end...this movie is going to be fucking epic.

Well, people in the 40s would have been comfortable in their clothes because it was their actual clothes. Modern people are playing dress up - it's a period piece. I'm sure the Romans were comfortable in tunics (not togas, those things sucked), but anyone who wears one in a TV show or movie set in the period doesn't look quite so natural.
