Torchwood: Miracle Day premiere date

That sounds like a very interesting idea. And the poster looks cool, though. I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah, can't say I'm too crazy about the poster either.

So is this going to be a weekly thing, or are they going to run all 10 episodes on consecutive days like Children of Earth?

I don't think that has been discussed yet. Since it's on an American network I would guess that it will be a weekly thing.

And there was me thinking it was going to be shown on the BBC first!

A Starz Original Series? Oh, marketing.

Nice to have a date, but horrible poster. I get what they're going for with the bomb, but it just doesn't work.

everything I have read about Mircale Day, suggests that its alot more a US show, than previous recent co-productions, I would not mind betting it will air on Starz first, and the BBC second, I suspect they are funding it alot more than the BBC.

I think Russell and Julie have stated that despite it being on Starz and having American cast members that it will still be the essence of "Torchwood" and fans shouldn't worry too much. I know some fans that I've talked to about it are a little worried that it's going to be "Americanized" but I don't have that concern myself. I'm almost more excited for "Miracle day" than I am for Doctor Who Series Six and Seven...almost.

that is fair enough, but the feel of the show is not really what im talking about, im talking about who funds it the most, and legal issues that result in a show airing somewhere first, and somewhere second.

I am coming to believe that Starz is a Torchwood show, with some co-production money from the BBC, in the same way that the first two episodes of Doctor Who, are BBC episodes, with co-production money from BBCAm.

The plot sounds a bit odd, if no one died for a year that would mean 50 million more people which out of 7 billion which doesn't quite seem to be an "instant" population crisis.

I wonder if it will end up like that episode of Family Guy when the Reaper takes a break.

A Starz Original Series

Excuse me :wtf: How is a 3 season old BBC show a Starz Original Series? The Americans seemingly get 1st run of a UK show, how about they air the same day?

Everytime I try & get excited about the upcoming season I can't help feel the show is going to be changed to fit the American audience more than the UK one.

Jax, I'm with you on this. After what AMC did to the Prisoner I have great fears for what Starz does with Torchwood.

Starz Original Series is just shorthand for "This is not a syndicated re-run from another network. This is new content."

Count me into the fearful group...but then again however lame it turns out to be, I bet it'll be better than series 1 ;)

I think I'm going to work on the assumption that TW will never be any better than CoE, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised but I'd rather lower my expectations and be happy with something that was more like series 2, than expect something as great as series 3 and be bitterly dissapointed.

SciFi did the same thing with Stargate SG-1 when they took over from Showtime in Season 6.
