A post in the House thread got me thinking. Do you think/hope that Jonas survived the Ori invasion of Langara and do you think/hope that we will hear mention of him at some point in the future?

I think it's incredibly unlikely he will ever be mentioned onscreen again.

I think he survived, but I doubt we'll ever hear from him again. He seems to be a bit of a sore spot in SG fandom.

^ I didn't like him at first, but after watching Season 6 a few times he grew on me. I think he grew on most fans with age too.

It is rumored that a Langaran delegation will be involved in an episode during season 2.5 of Universe because of the sizable Naquadria deposits on Langara.
Actually in the Atlantis crossover, Seizure. Also Corin Nemic mentioned during an interview for Sand Sharks that he "got back into the boots of an old character in the third incarnation of a franchise."

^ I'll be quite surprised if that turns out to be true!

Mallozzi said he'll get a mention.

So will I. Notoriously unreliable site, and no source.

Jonas Quinn is indeed going to be mentioned in an upcoming SGU episode, but as far as I know, he's not appearing.

The way he was handled shows the immaturity of the writers that a few years later will fuck over the actress who played Weir.

Part of me wishes the Ori stuff would of been in a spinoff show to bring back Jonas as a major character because he was screwed as an actor by the writers/producers

In what sense was the handling of either immature? The writers have no obligation to keep either in the show, they use them while they need them, that's how the job works. If anyone acted immaturely it was Torri Higginson, who accepted the deal for four other episodes, and then came out afterwards saying that the way she was let-go was 'shitty'. She explained it, and somehow in her head, the writers bringing her into their office and telling her they were killing her off after season 4 had wrapped, then offering her a few more episodes somehow qualified 'shitty'. I mean I know she's a relatively a small time actress, but doesn't she know how the industry works? If anything they did her a courtesy, many actors would simply have a had a phone call from their agent one day during the hiatus.

^Or they would've heard about it from the network's Twitter feed. Ahem.

And this kind of thread is exactly what I was talking about, too! :p

Wow... everything you say about Stargate is over the top, you much be from Gateworld. Maybe you are a writer of the show? Because they are in their own little happy world too.

I love how you live in your own little dreamland. She was fired. She had a 6 year contract that she wouldn't do other shows, she had to move to Canada for the job, and then at the last minute the writers went "we are firing you for no reason because we really have no plan". Then they get pissed off when she refuses to do four more episode? I would tell them to fuck off too.

If they actually had a plan, they could ahve killed her off and kept her around as a bad guy. She was still under contract, but they fired her and then wanted her back. They could have done what they did with Sam, make her show up for another season because it's in her contract, but not be in every episode. Weir could have been the main bad-girl of season 4, still being a "main character" and then she couldn't have told the creators no. Instead they fired her ass, once again for no reason, then wonder why she gets pissy.

Also she was killed off after season 3, not season 4.

Generally speaking any sentence that begins with 'wow' is usually worthless, I see the trend continues.

    Few points:

    1) Those contracts are for the benefit of the studio, not the actress. It's so that they can make sure she'll be available to keep playing the role, and not refuse so she can bleed them for money. After she was killed off the contract was ended and she was free to get more work.

    2) She's Canadian.

    3) She didn't refuse to do those four episodes, she took the offer. It was only after they were completed that she complained about it in an interview. Classy.

They could have done that yes, but why should they? They had no obligation to, and she has no right to feel hard-done-by, if anything she should be grateful that they've given her three steady years of employment. It's more than most actors get.
