The Simpsons is still a million times better than Family Guy.

Eh, it's a matter of personal taste. I like Family Guy because I expect it to be nothing more than a container for crude, off color humor and political jokes. That's what I get. With The Simpsons, I expect a lot more, and they have failed to deliver for about 10-12 seasons.

The website makes a lot of good points. Yeah, it gets really anal about some things, but it's no different than someone who posts detailed political commentary.

Heh, I thought the newest season has been really hit and miss. It may be because I studied animation, but I loved the Angry Dad ep, and it had me laughing out loud on a few occasions.

Then came the one with grandpa and the rest of the OAPs in springfield having their eyes pop out. That was a weird one, more than anything.

And finally, the Cheech and Chong ep. Now, i'm 21, so Cheech and Chong are before my time and stuff, but I was really laughing at that ep. It was just full of funny jokes. I know it's nowhere near what it used to be, but it's certainly pulled out of the nose dive it was in.

I think it's been pretty good since The Simpsons Movie came out. A totally different show than it's original 7 or 8 seasons, I agree, but still pretty good. I also thought the Cheech and Chong episode was pretty funny.

I can't stand FG. I watched 3 minutes last night of Peter's father in law breaking a bench. That's not funny, it's lame. If I want crude off color jokes I'll listen to Mel Gibson.

I think it's been pretty good since The Simpsons Movie came out.

The movie revitalized things. They brought back some of the writers from the show's heyday, who gave the film a stronger character-driven focus than the show had had for a while, since a feature film needed a central arc to drive it rather than just being a bunch of gags strung together. So that helped make the movie fairly strong compared to where the show had ended up, and I think the lessons learned from that process helped the show's writers recapture some of that character focus for a couple of seasons. Unfortunately, the impact of the movie seems to have mostly worn off by now.

Oh right, the Simpsons is still going. Season 23, huh? So that makes about 13 years since I've actually watched it. It's sad that the show has now had so many more crap seasons than good ones.
Every now and again I catch an episode and am literally groaning at the TV repeatedly at how bad it is. They've ruined every character, I can't even tell when it's attempting jokes anymore, and it ruins the history of the show at every turn. Someone put this show out of its misery already.
