Dr Who-Comic Relief March 18th!! (spoilers!)

If I'm a miseryguts for not giving a good review to any fucking nonsense just because it's for Comic Relief, then so be it.

Sadly, Bones, you are a miseryguts, and you bring the whole place down with your lack of charity.

It was fluff, but it was a lot of fun, and the best laugh I've had today. Amy flirting with herself, and you could read Rory's thoughts right on his face...

How about the reason Amy slapped him? What if there's 2 of her forever... what would we do? *gasp* slap

^ If this is hints to come of the dynamic between these three, this series is going to be a hoot. I know this was literally comic relief but still.

I heartily agree, Admiral Young, being the first married couple there is a vast territory for fun and drama open to the writers. Something else that I enjoyed here was that Karen didn't seem to be outshone by the Matt and Arthur so much as she seemed to have during the series. Perhaps she plays better with the comedy than drama or they are getting more comfortable playing off one another. It would be great to have more camaraderie like this during the series.

Karen seems naturally funny in all her press junkets and interviews that I've seen. It's always hard to tell with celebs of course but I have got a sense of genuine funniness from her in everything that I've seen from her. I've heard people say that she's really bonkers (in a good way ;) ) in real life. Her boyfriend better know what a lucky ass he is...

Some absolute nonsense happens because Rory looked up Amy's twat, and it's solved with the wibbly lever. Complete fucking shit.

Go back under the rock you hid yourself under for a while, this place was getting a lot more friendly with out you here.

Whoa.... take it easy. Everyone's entitled to an opinion.

Bones, you yourself could choose a less flagrant way of expressing your dislike, especially considering your rep here.

Indeed we are, and that is my opinion of the situation with out Bones around these parts. Since his return from hiding under that rock, this place has yet again began to become unfriendly, all we need now is The to return and it will be a return of what it was like before.

As for my opinion on them, I thought they were a fun little romp and nothing more.

Hes just trolling. Ignore him.

I thought it was a bit of good fun and a nice visit with characters you're starting to feel like old friends.

At least now we finally have an official date for ther start of the new series.

So how many geeky 'Science of Doctor Who' fans are currently out there having a fit over this episode I wonder?

What's this guv? I thought I was well loved and respected, a real pillar of the forum community. As for the story, I'm just calling what is, in my view, a spade a spade. I'm also managing to not insult those with the opposing point of view.

For what it's worth, I sort of agree with Bones. (What's wrong with me? :p)

It was only a skit for charity, so no harm done, but the most I can muster up is 'meh'. The beginning was reasoanbly funny but I didn't like the low brow humour that followed, and not even because I don't like low brow humour (I do) but it just seemed very clichéd and lazy. Rory literally dropping everything because he got a glimpse of his wife's genitals (or even worse, just her panties) bugged me. I tend to think men have more constraint, and also, I really didn't want to know that about Amy.
The joke about the two Amys and Rory's reaction was more subtle and funnier.
Another thing that bugged me was the way some of the dialogue was written. To me, it sounded somewhat empty and solely designed to make the protagonists sound cool.
They could also turn down the music a little. Did we really need all this dramatic sounding music the whole time?

I also couldn't help but notice how blatantly the idea of the weird TARDIS materialisation is lifted from The Time Monster but that's just me.

That's probably a lot more than one should think or write about a short skit (or two short skits) for Comic Relief but given that it only lasted 10 minutes, there was quite a lot of stuff that bugged me in it. I also felt I should elaborate on my opinion so I won't get torn to shreds in here. ;)
All in all, I think I'd rather have seen a repeat of The Curse of Fatal Death, Steven Moffat's previous Who spoof for Comic Relief.

Hardly. You seem more to be trying to provoke people with as "colorful" a description as you can create. So please refrain from those, and discuss things without the sideshow.

Everyone .... Comments to PM.

Ooooh, is it me or did they add a hint of swirling stars at the beginning just before the Tardis falls into the vortex?

Or was I just not paying attention last series? :)

It's because there's a second or two of theme music that begins over the episode itself and not the opening sequence (the trademark screech). When the episode (or whatever) begins with the credits so there's no teaser for it to play over, there's an extra couple of seconds of vortex at the beginning to make up the difference. They've been doing it since the RTD days.
