Richard Curtis returns for Series 6/Season 32!

Well, the concept of a crack in time which could erase your entire existence is pretty darn scary.

It's pretty much confirmed now that it was all just a rumor. The Doctor Who Information Network just posted a listing of the confirmed writers citing DWM as the source and I don't see Curtis' name anywhere:

And we know Moffat's doing the Comic Relief skits (though I agree, since Curtis co-founded the charity, it wouldn't have been a surprise to see him write them).

That leaves the Christmas special as the only short-term option, though that would make it the first time the current showrunner hasn't written the holiday special.

Curtis' episode was so well received I would personally expect to see him back, maybe of Series 7, but I figured it was too much to hope for him to be back so quickly.

I personally still have my fingers crossed they'll manage to snag Alan Moore one of these days (since Moore is a DWM comic strip veteran).

^ Moore seems to have a propensity for burning bridges. Difficult genius and all that. Maybe he's gotten over himself by now.

A pity this turned out to be a rumor but I certainly hope he returns sometime soon. And someday, someday Stephen Fry may finally have some free time to write another script (although I want him to appear on House first).
