wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

Edge and Christian reeked of awesome Friday night. By far my second favorite tag team of all time. Right after the Road Warriors and no I dont mean the Legion of Doom.
Playing catch up on threads. Cole has been the best heal on wrestling in years. Sad when an announcer is better than any in ring performers. Although Alberto del Rio is doing a terrific job as well. I cant stand the man. Though I love his cars.

Edge and christian are my all time favorite tag and single wrestler next to kurt angle . I watched them come in with gangrel doing the vampire theme . I liked way better than the hardy boyz . looking forward to monday night raw . Have you noticed it is just now called RAW it use to called RAW IS WAR .

Never saw explosian . what channel was it on or was a internet show like nxt ?

I don't think Xplosion was shown in the US. It was mainly for the international market, with a recap and highlights of Impact and an exclusive match or two (often better than what was on Impact, with the likes of Daffney, Amazing Red, Jay Lethal, Magnus and co).

Unfortunately, it was recently axed in Australia.

Demolition was always my favorite tag team, the original, not when they added Crush. Edge and Christian second. I was never a fan of the Hardy Boyz but did appreciate their atheism.

^ RIC FLARE is GOD jeff is the antichrist and matt is a douche but he makes a better heel than his brother .

Ric Flair is a buffoon who is way past his prime and is trying to live off his greatness. Same with Hogan. Jeff and Matt are both douches, and I didn't even realize my spelling error haha.

Just stumbled across this thread, thought i'd share my thoughts...

When I was a kid, I was a massive Wrestling fan, I caught the WWE (or WWF as it was then) near the end of the 'Attitude Era' where the likes of Stone Cold, The Rock and Triple H were the big three in the world of Wrestling. I also watched WCW occasionly and, like many people, was mega shocked when WWF bought WCW and the whole Invasion angle began (this was a time before I discovered 'Dirtsheets')

I was an on and off Wrestling fan from 2002 to 2008. These days its mainly the Business side of Professional Wrestling that interests me. I've familiarised myself with the Standards and Practises of Pro-Wrestling, the Lingo and the 'Internal Politics' of it all. Its a really intriguing industry, if you have the time to read up and analyse.

I don't often watch Wrestling nowadays, WWE is geared more towards the younger fanbase and the TV shows and PPV's have become more 'Family Friendly' as a result. (they've done away with most of the stuff that gave the product an edge)

TNA in the beginning had a lot of potential and I still think it does, Its just so puzzling why they don't make certain, obvious improvements. Even someone with limited business knowledge can point out the many flaws in the TNA product. The main thing thats wrong with TNA is their attempts at 'competing with WWE'. Rather than trying to compete and imitate the market leader, they should be focusing their energy on providing an alternative. A lot of people claim that Vince Russo is the main problem in TNA(for those of you unfamiliar with this guy, he was a former WWF writer who had the knack for coming up with bizarre storylines and although he did come up with some really good stuff on occasion, he will be forever for his fails. When he left to join WCW he was a factor in the downfall of the promotion, in his first year there he booked a terrible 'Veterans VS New Guys' feud, made David Arquette the WCW champion, made himself the WCW champion, embarassed and fired Hulk Hogan live and as per his last job, he booked some questionable storylines), I disagree, while Russo is the head booker, its up to Jeff Jarret and Dixie Carter to make the final decision with what they run with. Its a Management problem, not an employee one, they have the talent, a decent amount of resources and an almost 'Politics Free' Backstage area.

This has nothing to do with what we're currently discussing but it has to do with Wrestling and the head shots that go along with it. Also, someone mentioned the Business of Wrestling and the death of Chris Benoit was brought up, so I wanted to recommend a great interview I heard this week with Chris Nowinski on the BS Report (Bill Simmons' podcast) in which they talk about that kind of thing, as well as head shots in sports. Might add a little to the business of wrestling for whoever is interested.

^ Yep he's actually been on in the past on local shows in Vancouver talking about brain damage.

I was just watching some old Vince Russo footage from the end of WCW and some old TNA bits and man is this guy just awful. I also saw the shoot on Goldberg during the New Blood Rising PPV (I'd forgotten that was in Vancouver and I almost went to it) and Nitro the following night was taped in Kelowna.

Also it appears after reading a review Victory Road was horrible...

Here's the youtube vid of the MAIN EVENT. It's been heavily speculated that something was wrong with Jeff (i.e. he was drugged up or something) at the end Sting is reacting to the crowd who are chanting bullshit.

I just saw this on Bryan Alvarez's facebook page...a little snippet of what Vince Russo (if it is actually him and not some troll) thinks of wrestling fans.

http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10150426853340624&id=100002173303387

Er, his bio is "Hi my names vince and i am cursed with to much creative tallent for just one man. People like bryan alvarez try to tarnish my reputation because they are jealous of my brilliance."

Gee, could it really be him or a troll...

Alvarez himself is a bit of a troll when it comes to TNA, and has been for eight years.

Now, as for Victory Road, that is going to be a big story. Unless it is an extremely elaborate worked shoot, featuring far more attention to detail, realism and acting ability than I've ever seen in wrestling, Jeff Hardy was so off his face that they had to end the main event in one minute.

It was incredible to watch it all unfold, but really quite pathetic on Hardy's part.

I don't know if TNA is smart enough to pull off a worked shoot personally but wouldn't be surprised if it was a stunt to get people talking about them. It didn't look like a work from Sting's reaction. He looked pissed off as he was walking back up the rant and agreed with the fans that it was bullshit. Jeff looked out of it...supposedly one of the people's comments on the vid stated that the referee made an X sign which is a signal that there is an emergency. When Sting pins Jeff you can kind of tell that Hardy doesn't seemed thrilled about it. Can that be apart of a work? Of course. Also the entire PPV seemed to be full of screwjobs so who knows. Also I really despise the design of their World Title. It looks horrible.

I cannot believe it was a work. The sequence of events is (list from elsewhere, but I confirmed each one myself):

2:45- Hardy says something to ref and leaves ring

3:00- Ref gives the "x" signal to the hard cam

3:08- Ref waves someone to come towards ring

3:12- ref is talking to an agent or someone

3:25-3:35- Ref tells Sting something, Sting says "you kidding me?", then mutters stuff under his breath as he throws coat out of ring.

3:40- Weird bell ringing

5:57- Bischoff tells off Hardy

Hardy stumbled into the ring, and looked out of it. Bischoff came out shortly after the signal, and his promo was very much impromptu. He also spoke to both wrestlers, deliberately holding the mic well away from himself.

Then there is Sting's clear look of anger throughout the "match", quite violent Scorpion Death Drop, with Hardy struggling to get out of the pin and then Sting, in response to the crowd chanting BS, yelling "I agree".

There's no way it was a work, IMO.

As for the belt, that's probably the one Hardy introduced while champion. The old one is with Eric Young, and looks much better. They will hopefully go back to it soon.

^ Yeah I thought it was the one Jeff designed for himself. Ugly design. Yep you pretty much describe the events of the match to a tee. I'm sure there was some kind of shouting going on in the back when this thing went off the air. LOL. This has the potential to be TNA's very own version of the Montreal Screwjob only under some very different and weird circumstances. I like the fact that Tazz continues to push Sting though afterwards lol. I didn't think Sting did a particularly violent SDD...it was pretty quick and to the point.

I hate the new world heavy weight title Its trash . It reminds me of ceana's spining belt hated that as well wish they would get a new wwe title belt .

and what does lol mean ?:confused::confused:

Victory Road 2011

Regarding the mess that was the Sting vs Jeff Hardy match. I'm under the impression that it was down to one or two things. The first is that Jeff Hardy was unable to compete, as people have pointed out, Sting's reaction to the Ref's new instructions was "Are you kidding me ?!" for whatever reason Hardy was deemed 'unable to compete' it doesn't really matter, but it does matter that it pissed a lot of people off, they felt cheated by paying for a PPV based on this main event.

The second reason as speculated, was that it was a Worked Shoot. Whatever the reason for that, it still pissed a lot of people off. Bearing in mind that in some ways this mirrors the 'Fingerpoke of Doom' incident, TNA need to be very careful that they don't lose the plot. When WCW did this, it pretty much signalled the end for the company.

The TNA Heavyweight title may be trash, but it is appropriately befitting of their organization.

I haven't seen the Hardy/Sting match myself, but there is a consensus that it wasn't a work. Jeff is in a very precarious position and should really re-examine his life.

On the other hand, TNA had seriously better start paying better attention to the health of their wrestlers, they make a habit of signing guys who have failed drug tests on a consistant basis. Guys who have no-showed ppv events because of "personal demons". Guys who have no business still being in the ring taking bumps are still in the ring taking chairshots.

TNA doesn't show 1/10th the regard for the safty their performers that WWE does.

I think tna actually does take care of there wrestler in the health department .
They give them the time off to heal and so forth . I mean look at kurt angle he
left the wwe because they would'nt give him time get to get off of medical steroids.
all you have to do is look at chris benoite which was a tragedy waiting to happen .
jeff and rvd both have drugg issues . and I think spike is takeing issues with this and
want a clean champion . meaning sting or mr.anderson who should get his title rematch before jeff which contracting obligations .

tonight : :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: RAW AND RING OF HONOR :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

The Benoit tragedy had very few warning signs; even Benoit's closest friends say that he was intensely private. So, that's not a fair comparison. If Chris Jericho, Chavo Guerrero, Dean Malenko and other close friends couldn't see the warning signs how do you expect an employer to have warning and step in? That tragedy was the trigger that got everyone to pay attention, and got the wrestlers to better protect themselves in and out of the ring.

I mean, if you could tell the Benoit tragedy was going to happen before-hand I stand corrected, but then, why didn't you say anything to the proper authorities?

Jeff has two strikes against him in WWE, TNA signed him and he has only continued to act in the same way. Scott Hall is a guy who has no business putting anyone else's life in his hands in the ring, TNA signed him just the same. Rick Flair, Hulk Hogan... the list goes on. These are all people who either are getting messed up on drugs or are simply too old to be taking bumps. And TNA employes them.

Mr. Anderson simply isn't over enough to carry the title. Course, as you say, the title is trash, TNA should treat it as such.
