Which Batman comic to follow?

^ He said at his Q+A last year at comic con that essentially Batman and Robin (referring to Dick) are like 70 years old the age basically that they were first created. It was a tongue in cheek response but basically he really doesn't like answering that question. If I can find it I'll post it (I think I actually did last year but can't remember the thread i posted it in).

If you think about it, though, that would make the fifth part of The Return of Bruce Wayne make more sense. :)

what did you not understand about the return of bruce wyane ?
Did you read time masters with it ?

out of the batman books I read :

batman
detective comics
batman and robin
batman incorperated
batman the dark knight :scream::scream::scream:

and why is this last one so late ?!

ps, I love drawing the line at 2.99 I wish dark horse and IDW would follow suit !!

^ Did you not see my wink emoticon? I understand The Return of Bruce Wayne perfectly. It was explained in the last page why "Batman: Dark Knight" is late. It's because David Finch is late on his pages.

okay cool missunderstood . also I read :

red robin and batgirl thinking of picking up batwoman gotham sierens later this year in graphic form .

There are some structural reasons why IDW can't price their comics at $2.99. They publish mainly licenses and they publish their comics overseas in Korea. Taken together, these two make their comics a little more expensive to produce (the license fees and the shipping costs).

That's cool I read three main companies DC ,IDW and dark horse . can'nt stand marvel any more after cival I know this is a BATMAN conversation but there it is.
as big HELL BOY fan would'nt mind seeing hell boy and BATMAN crossover for a second time either .

Dang it, I told people at my local comics shop that Finch might wind up being late on this book at some point--I just didn't think it would be this soon though...

It's cool. I read more DC, IDW, and BOOM! than Dark Horse and Marvel. I read a smattering of Image.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind that. To be honest, anything would be better than Batman/Hellboy/Starman. It was just... meh. I also wouldn't mind Hellboy/Thor; I think those worlds would mesh very well.

But my dream Hellboy crossover would be with Indiana Jones. Imagine a 1950s Indy working with the BPRD and a young Hellboy. The kinds of adventures Indiana Jones has and the kinds of adventures Hellboy has are very compatible, when you think about it.

As for Batman: The Dark Knight, I have no idea what DC should do. The whole reason that book exists is David Finch; replacing him simply isn't feasible.

Yeah it's Finch's baby and his story. It's under the Batman, Inc. branch but really it's Finch's story so replacing him seems implausible. It'll just come out delayed most likely.

Hmm. I mainly read Image (Walking Dead, Haunt, Spawn, Turf), but I've got titles from Dark Horse (various Star Wars), DC (Batman graphic novels, Deus Ex) and the new Venom series from Marvel seems really cool from the first image released.

Maybe I should cut down on my comic spending...

Speaking of "All Star Batman and Robin" the sequel "Dark Knight: Boy Wonder" was supposed to come out in February lol. As horrendous as ASBR was I was actually looking forward to the sequel. Nothing has been stated by DC about the comic too. I wouldn't be surprised if this will be eventually canceled just like Miller's "Holy Terror, Batman!".

I have never read all star batman and robin or all star superman . are they worth getting ? also love the walking dead from image great book , even if it is image .
as far as the hellboy + indiana jones crossover that would be great but it should be set after kingdom of the crystal skull he would be at least in his teens .

Most consider "All Star Superman" one of the greatest Superman stories ever told. I thought it was pretty good.

AS Batman & Robin is a mixed bag. You've got gorgeous Jim Lee art. And Frank Miller going batshit crazy with Batman. It's practically a parody of a Batman comic it's so over the top and violent and mean. "I'm the goddamn Batman!"

Supposedly, issue #2 of Batman: The Dark Knight is coming out in two weeks. I'll believe it when it shows up on my next comics invoice. :)

I don't entirely blame Finch. DC has given him a lot of cover work, and I recall an interview where he said that can be more time-consuming than regular pages. J.H. Williams III had to beg off his cover assignment for Batman, Inc. because the covers were seriously eating into his Batwoman time.

Issue #5 was just announced in the June solitcs. "All Star Superman" is my favorite Superman story ever I would read it before "All Star Batman and Robin". It should be noted that ASBR takes place in "The Dark Knight Returns" continuity and takes place a few years after "Year One" which is part of that continuity as well as being part of the normal DCU continuity. Jim Lee did interviews where he revealed that he was surprised at the direction Frank took that book in. I got the impression that it wasn't what they had discussed. "All Star Wonder Woman" by Adam Hughes looks like it is on hiatus since there have been no recent updates. I think "All Star Batgirl" is canceled.
