Anyone Know A Site Where You Can Watch DS9 For Free?

Maybe you should actualy pay for something that people spent a lot of time and effort making?

In all fairness, Star Trek shows are extraordinarily expensive as far as DVDs go. All the seasons of Lost, Babylon 5, Buffy, Angel, The X-Files, Heroes (Save for the newest season), Farscape, Battlestar Galactica, and so many others are all under $30 and in some cases under $20. Why can those series go that cheap when Star Trek hangs out around $50? If they had to, I would totally accept cheaper packaging if it meant them being worth around $20. Anyways, I hated the cases for them. I put them in my own DVD binder. Looked and held together much nicer.

Honestly I haven't watched much of them. I recently watched the first 3 episodes of B5. It was okay. I didn't care for how humans seemed to be mediators. G'Kar did seem like the most interesting character. Londo seemed to serve as comedic relief. Especially with that wannabe Spartan officer 'do.

But I do rather enjoy the X-Files. As for Lost, Heroes and the others. Meh.

B5 is really hard to get into, but once you're into it, it's really good. Heroes Season 1 is probably one of my favorite seasons of television ever, but yeah, the rest of the series is meh. Lost and Buffy are probably my two favorite shows ever start to finish along with Deep Space Nine.

But like I said, regardless of quality, $50 is too expensive for a single season on DVD anymore. Especially for a show that was just transfered to DVD with no remastering work and with Bluray taking over, nope. No good.

@DoBa: Quite So! DS9 is worth it. I swear, this vampire crap is old now. Vampires do not sparkle, they melt in UV rays!

@C Miller: I think that is due to the fact that everything Star Trek is rare nowadays. They did auction out Quarks bar that was in Vagas maybe seven years ago. Sad day when I found that out. I wanted to spend one of my birthdays in Vagas. :/

I know I ignored this C Miller, but I really think that posting those links to youtube would not be legal, and not wise. Just does not seem right to post them to be honest with you. I did some checking as you spoke about it, and yea, turns out all the episodes are up there on youtube, but as a mod said here (they're in green, right?), links of the matter shouldn't be posted and we should give credit to those who worked on the series, even if we only give them a dime.

Yea I can understand a free trial link and such, but the series, actors, creators, and writers all deserve the money that buys the merchandise; its hard enough as it is making a living as a sales associate and full time college student and I am sure its the same for an actor or writer.

I just finished the first season of 'Babylon 5'. That show is frickin' awful.

As for DS9 on DVD, I don't think I paid over $40 for each season, but maybe I just caught a good run of prices. It was a few years ago, I'm not sure whether there may be a shorter supply now that they've been out for so long. Just keep searching around, you might find some good deals. It's a far sight better than when TNG first appeared on DVD - I think those sets were around $125.

Oil prices have gone up in the US. Sure as hell's gonna go up for every other product the US uses oil to make such things with. :/

Pretty sure that means DVD's, books, and everything else. Soap too. Ugh.

Yeah, you probably did catch a good deal. I was so upset when my DVDs got stolen, as they are not easy to replace at these prices. But you're right, they are a lot better than when TNG first went on the market. And I thought they would get cheaper and while they did, they still aren't as cheap as some DVDs, so they are nowhere close to my priority.

Weyoun... I don't see thee DVDs getting too more expensive. They can only increase in price as far as demand will go. I don't see demand going much higher than 50. And actually Amazon is having a sale. They're now around 40, which is a lot better, but still not good for me in the middle of March while 'm at school... Now if this continues to the summer, we're having a conversation.

Ive gotten all my trek from ebay or amazon for about £15 (just under 30 dollars I think). Even if it was double that price, which it is on the highstreet, I wouldnt realy consider it overpriced. In the Uk, an average film costs about £10 to £15, and thats for about 90 to 120 minutes of entertainment. Compare that with the 16 hours of entertainment you get with a trek boxset. Pretty good deal, even if other boxsets are lower.

If we want studios to start making Trek again, we need to show them there is money to be made.

Well, I won't spend over $5 for a film either now, so it evens out. Either way, Box sets and films can't be compared. You have to compare box sets to other box sets to judge prices. If I can get two seasons of another show I love for under the price of one Star Trek season, then there's no question what I'm going to choose. Simple economics.

I agree, we need to show there's money to be made and you're talking to someone who owned the series at one point in my life, but there's a difference between that and justifying stealing. If these other shows can do it for $25 cheaper and still make money, Star Trek is either doing something wrong or they know that certain people will buy it.
