Blech... none of the songs were great, but Randy Newman's was definitely the worst. 127 Days and Country Strong's entries were much better. Gwyneth is a good singer; the song's bland even for Nashville, but it's better than Randy Newman or that kinda-boring Disney song. 127 Days shoulda got it if any of them.

Agreed. The montage is to honor all, not just the popular ones. But the Oscars should do the In Memoriam montage like TCM does. TCM does it with class...
