Is it homosexual to date a trans woman?

In a world where you can completely change your gender (or cross-dress if you prefer not to remove your womanly or manly parts), I think words like homosexual and heterosexual have been rendered obsolete.

What does that make me, then? Half-bi?! :p

I don't agree. Like I said, it's all about what the person is *now*. What they used to be, or what they might one day be, is irrelevant.

They're still useful as broad categories.

But I suppose I agree that we're entering a third sexual paradigm--the first being classical antiquity's penetrator-penetratee system, the second being the heterosexual-homosexual system that developed after Christianity or, possibly, much later, and now a more particularized system.

And for anyone interested in further categorizing, here's the Kinsey scale:

I always say if it was born a man then he is still a man no matter what he does to himself. I wouldnt date a dude who is now a woman because in my eyes he/she is still a guy and that would be gay. However I see nothing wrong with dating a guy who used to be a girl because that guy is still a girl in my book and by dating them you are not being homosexual.

I am a big fat loser, but if I put on a Superman suit, I am still a big fat loser underneath I won't be magically transformed into Superman therefore if a dude gets his weiner cut off and made into a woman's private parts he is still a dude in my book.

:wtf:

Have you ever even known (not just "met", but "known") a trans person?

I've known a few trans people in my life, and believe me, they are what they present themselves as. And I can guarantee you that with that attitude, no transman would be interested in you even if you see "nothing wrong" with dating them. A transman who dates other men sees himself as gay. Your view of such a relationship as being heterosexual in nature because he "is still a girl in your book" would be a complete non-starter.

Are you a man who wants to date her because you are attracted to her as a woman? If so, then the answer is no.

If you are a woman, then it is homosexual. Lesbian, that is. But I assume you are a man.

If you are a man who wants to date her because you see her as a man... then the answer is yes, but I really don't think you'd be suited for each other.

It's pretty easy in many cases to identify post-op transexual women with the naked eye.
Why? Because they look mannish? So do many women who aren't transsexual. It doesn't mean that men who are attracted to them are secretly gay or something, any more than women who are attracted to effeminate-looking men are secretly lesbian. As long as they're attracted to them as women and as men respectively.
