I HATE spicy foods, Danggit!

My wife is a blandy. For me, the spicier the better. If it doesn't sting on the way in and out, it's not spicy enough. I'll eat a whole raw habanero just for the endorphin rush.

Sweet food on the other hand, blecch.

Same here, I don't think I've ever had a craving for something sweet. My cravings are usually about Thai food or some char kway teow to put fresh chillies on. I'll go weeks without eating anything sweet.

omg.. just writing the words "char kway teow" is making me salivate.

Some people just prefer bland food, no big deal.
What a sad and uninteresting way for them to go through life.

I couldn't agree more. There's a world of flavor out there.

I can handle flavor, as long as it isnt burning your tongue and ruining the food. I don't eat to suffer and see no point in having my tongue and throat burning. It doesn't enhance the food one bit for me and makes me not eat anymore.

We get it. Spicy food burns your mouth. But do you get that not everyone has that same reaction? Some people can shove a jalapeno in their mouth and not have it burn at all.

I've never had anything that was too spicy for me--except for a drop of Ghost Pepper hot sauce from India. Holy shit, that stuff is hot. And it's all heat, not really any flavor. Not much of a fan of that.

Even so, I love spicy food!

Ghost Pepper is nothing to #### with, and that's coming from a guy that can eat habeneros whole.

Yeah. Even when something is too spicy for me, it doesn't really burn as described, either. It's uncomfortable, for sure, but burning is the wrong way to describe it.

Of course I "get it". I have an aunt that loves anything spicy, the better, but what I don't get are people I know who know I cant stand the stuff, but still try to get me to try their latest dish then get mad when I won't. Telling me, "Its not that spicy" will not help your case any.

I also hate the taste of alcohol and have had friends who swore they could make me a drink where I wouldn't taste the alcohol and each time I could taste the alcohol and wouldn't drink anymore of it.

Okay, it just seems like you're getting a bit defensive. Your idea of spicy is clearly different from most other people's idea of spicy, and that's fine. Unfortunately, since your taste buds seems to be so much more sensitive than other people's, you're probably not going to stop experiencing these problems.

There are some mixed drinks with fruit juice or sweet liqueur where you can barely taste the alcohol. I don’t like the taste of alcohol either, but I like piña coladas.

Can’t stand getting caught in the rain, though. That sucks.

As far as I'm concerned, mo hotter, mo better... As long as there is flavor.

I had a fantastic penne arrabriata last night (and no, a tray was not offered)...

I put sirracha sauce on just about everything, but have become enamoured with Chulula sauce lately.. Fantastic stuff..

Of course, in New Mexico, we put green chile on everything.. Sadly, there are a lot of flavorless green chiles out there, so I usually just roast and chop my own.
