Some "words of wisdom" 'if you think you are going to look back on things and laugh, laugh now." Marie Osmond

II found it got me through last year...along with the kindness of those here, they are the best!

All my hopes and prayers for a speedy positive resolution to ALL that you have suffered through in the past and what lies ahead...

God Bless You

Okay, it's not quite an absolute, because I still don't have the biopsy results. But the orthopedic surgeon who did the biopsy Friday said there is "zero chance" that the mass on my lower spine is benign; they just need to figure out exactly what it is.

Unfortunately that surgeon, whom I really liked so far, can't fit me into his schedule in a reasonable timeframe and said I should find someone else. So now I'm actually looking for spine specialist number three.

Aside from all the obvious fears regarding surgery and a life-threatening illness... A few of you know that I was raped / robbed / assaulted w/ a deadly weapon back in May. My PTSD was healing nicely, until this came up. Now it's been stirred up again big time.

I would really appreciate prayers from those of you who pray and good vibes or whatever from those of you who don't.

I'm so sorry to hear about this and about what you've had to go through over the past year. It says so much about your character and outlook on life that you've managed to remain such an upbeat and friendly poster here in spite of the trauma you suffered and the medical issues you're going through now. I know that positive outlook on life will be of great help to you as you go through this, so I hope you can find the strength to keep it up. If you ever need any advice or help to cheer up, please know that you've got us all on call for you. :)

Here's hoping that the doctor's fears are overstated, but if it isn't it's a good thing that the mass has been identified early. Best wishes to you and your family, and all my hopes on you having a speedy recovery.

That sucks. :borg:

It's bad news indeed, but don't get too disheartened. They keep making leaps and bounds in Medicine every day. Chances are you can beat it.

My strong and positive vibes are coming your way. :)

My family and I will be praying for you, no matter how obsolete that might sound to others.

I thought I told you to get rid of Marie Curie's Back Pillow!

but in all seriousness I wish you the best
I'll be praying. :D

Sorry to hear this, Tora. I hope it all comes out good for you and I will keep you in my thoughts.

No problem with the prayers, Tora.

Whatever this turns out to be, you have my prayers and best wishes that you'll kick its sorry arse. :bolian:

I know it is a huge thing to ask, but try and send out some good vibes yourself. Keeping a positive attitude and low stress is very important for the immune system and will really help you in your upcoming fight. Here's hoping it is somewhere between "zero benign" and cancer. And cancer treatments really are improving these days. My father lived for eight years after he was diagnosed with myeloma and in fact it wasn't even the cancer that got him. I guess what I am trying to say is we are all in your corner.:techman:

Good morning and thank you, All. I am so grateful for the support.

I'm so sorry to hear about this and about what you've had to go through over the past year. Thanks. Yeah, I try not to take out my misery on others, you know? And, like, someone said, this place is a great escape. It's hard not to be in a good mood here.

My family and I will be praying for you, no matter how obsolete that might sound to others.

Doesn't sound obsolete to me.

I know it is a huge thing to ask, but try and send out some good vibes yourself. Keeping a positive attitude and low stress is very important for the immune system and will really help you in your upcoming fight.

Good point. Not sure where I'm going to find the "low stress", but I'm working on being positive. It's not coming easily.

Of course. It's the least I can do, even as just some stranger on the internet.

Everyone here in this thread is offering you their thoughts and/or prayers, so no matter what, never, ever feel alone!

I'll say a prayer for you. Cardies are people too. ;)

Hey, I'm half Bajoran, too!

Thank you so much. I can't imagine how horrible and terrifying it must for a child or teenager to be sexually assaulted or abused. At least I had a whole lot of life experience to help me cope.

I'm half Rhaandarite. (read Horizon's Time... Shameless plug)

After 10 yrs of dealing with it, I have become comfortable with it. Learned how to use it as a tool to help others in need.
