Pike Novels

What else did you expect from me! LOL

I was wondering if there were any other than: The Children of Kings, Vulcan's Glory, Captain's Table: Where Sea Meets Sky, and Burning Dreams?

I know the Rift has at least one flashback that takes place during the Pike era. Do you do comics? There are a bunch of cool Pike era comics, if you're interested.

Not really into comics, but love Pike so much that I would add them to my library, anywhere I can find them?

Not sure if it counts for you, but a version of Pike is also in the novelization of 2009 Star Trek movie.

The TOS novel Legacy has a lot of flashbacks to Pike's era, and is a "sequel" to an unseen adventure from his time.

IDW's Star Trek Omnibus, Volume 2 collects all of the 1990s comic series Early Voyages, which was about Pike and company.

Pike has tiny cameos in the crazy Shatner/Reeves-Stevens Starfleet academy novel Collision Course, as well as Vonda McIntyre's TOS get-together story Enterprise: The First Adventure. He also crops up briefly in a one or two of the TOS young adult Starfleet Academy novels. I have no idea if he's in the nuTrek academy books.

BTW, the Early Voyages comics are available on the Star Trek Complete Comic Collection DVD. Also on the disc, Pike crops up in one of DC comics' annuals (another TOS get-togther story). He also has tiny cameos in a return to Talos IV story and a Starfleet Academy issue (another return to Talos IV:lol:).

I have that and forgot to mention it, thanks!

EDIT: Mr. Mollmann beat me to it!

Thanks!

There were also two IDW Alien spotlight comics focusing on Pike and/or the Enterprise crew under his command Vulcans and Orions.

Thanks for the help

^IIRC, the grand prize winner in the first SNW anthology was "A Private Anecdote," told from the POV of the paralyzed Pike shortly before (or during?) "The Menagerie"'s frame story.

Memory Beta confirms your recollection.

It also mentions the TOS novel Killing Time, which has Pike serving under Captain Spock on a Vulcan starship in an alternate timeline created by a Romulan plot.

He's also in another alternate universe tale in the "Myriad Universes" novel A Less Perfect Union.

One of the short stories in The Lives of Dax anthology also focuses on Pike working with one of the Dax hosts (Audrid I think?).

Don't forget the Captain's Log issue about Pike either... art by JK Woodard, the guy that does art for Peter David's Fallen Angel comic series.

Crap, I can't belive I forgot these, I've read and enjoyed both of those stories. FYI the name of the story that he is in in TLoD is "Sins of the Mother."

Yeah, this is a good one. I'm reading that one chapter (or issue) a night right now.

Pike is also featured in the "Mirror Images" collection. It's the story of how Kirk killed Pike and took over the Enterprise in the Mirror Universe.
