Worst movie titles?

Original title was going to be Star Trek: Prime Directive. Obviously makes more sense to trekkies, but I'm not sure how a general audience would have reacted to that title.

The Shawshank Redemption.
Good movie, bad title. What’s a shawshank? A cut of meat? A sailor’s knot? And how do you redeem it?
Shawshank is the name of the prison, and the redemption comes from the decency of the men imprisoned there.

Yes, I know that. I saw the movie. I was being facetious.

It’s still a bad title.

LOL, if you really knew that, you wouldn't say it's a bad title. :guffaw:

Maybe a lot of Trekkies would think that was a film version of the Trek novel with that name.

Which would be pretty cool, actually...

Is this "Worst Movie Titles"? or "Non-Generic movie Titles"? I like most of the ones listed. So what if some of them are long or a bit creative. The only one that really sticks out is I Still Know What You Did Last Summer for reasons already mentioned. The Shawshank Redemption is a little unusual too. And I'm surprised no one mentioned Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. I like it, but it's consistent with the "it's too long" mentality.

As for Attack of the Clones, I like that one too. It's far, far better than "The Clone Wars" which everyone seems to like and which is about as generic, redundant and bland as you can get. If Episode II had been called "The Clone Wars", I would have nominated that as worst title ever. I'll let it go for the cartoon, but I'm glad it wasn't a movie title.

The old Dirk Benedict horror flick, "Ssssss!"
There's a movie about a small town being attacked by ravens and it's called Kaw.

It could have been worse.

It could have had the title that got Graham Kennedy banned from Australian tv for years in the early seventies!

"FAWWWKKK!!!!!!!!!!"

Apparently, they were going to change the title of Snakes on a Plane, but Samuel L. Jackson said he would leave the project if they did. The only reason he agreed to do the movie in the first place was the title.

Recently, Armored-that's a description, not a title, and not one that sounds interesting.

Otherwise, Moonraker (dry and meaningless) and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (not too bad but Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skulls is an obvious, better, more accurate alternative).
