Why so few Star Wars films/tv?

^^ Duh, it's because he's Prince. Same goes for Nic Cage
Anakin is the "Prince" of his universe.

If Prince & Nick are allowed to be creepy, odd and still be accepted then I don't see why Anakin who is equal to a celeb by being the "chosen one" in SW, can't be the same.

Is Anakin wearing a t-shirt saying "Chosen One"? How does everyone know he's the Chosen one? Does everyone know?

^^Ok, Nick Cage is creepy off screen.
Yet still finds plenty of hot women to date.
Prince is odd as hell, yet the hottest women all want to sleep with him.

How's that?:p

When women discuss hot guys, neither of those guys are anywhere near the top of the list. :rommie: And I wouldn't know what either of them are like off-screen.

I also wouldn't call Prince "creepy" in particular. He's more androgynous, which is not in itself creepy. It might be considered sexy, but that's a niche taste. Michael Jackson, now he's creepy. (And he did get a woman or two to marry him but let's face it, there was probably money and/or fame involved in that arrangement.)

Nic Cage comes off as sloppy, seedy and over the hill (is he going bald and wearing bad toupees?). Not creepy but not sexy either. Of course he's married - he's loaded! Just because a rich guy is married says nothing about whether he's sexy.

Neither guy has a persona that is malicious, childish or weak - that's what I mean by creepy.

Anakin is the "Prince" of his universe.

Not even close. Prince seems like he'd be very cool to hang out with. PT Anakin would be tiresome. TCW Anakin would be a blast. As for Nick Cage, he probably has some good stories and good drugs.

T-Shirt, that's funny.

I don't know if "everyone" knows he's the chosen one but he seems to have developed a reputation during the Clone War. Nearly everywhere he goes, he gets "Master Skywalker, I've heard much about you." I would also assume there some type of news network within the Republic worlds that reports events of war. Being he's usually in major battles, his name would come up often. Heads of government would also be aware of Jedi serving as generals.

Oh, I see.
I don't know anyone personally that would describe those traits as creepy. More like emotionally immature would be the definition, I think.

My fault, I should have been more clear.
In that statement I was referring to status.
Anakin's rep. is a well known too many during the CW.
It wasn't about personality.

Malicious + childish + weak is my definition of creepy. For instance, Michael Jackson is childish + weak, but not creepy, unless you add in "possible child molester" which means malicious. That's how you get to creepy. Emotionally immature is just the "childish" part. You need the other stuff to get all the way to the Creep Zone.

I don't know anyone personally (thank GORT!) who fits that definition, but I can expand my imagination to encompass fictional characters who might.

I'm not even sure what that means. Star Wars is about people who know Anakin personally, so there is no useful distinction between his public persona (whatever that might be) and how people view him personally.

Since you seem to be referencing TCW, this debate is getting confounded. TCW Anakin is not at all creepy and is, in fact, the character as he should have been written (perhaps was) and performed (definitely wasn't) in the PT.

Lucas is a control-freak, as you've noted, but I'm sure he was also disappointed by the reception of most of his TV-related Star Wars ventures. "The Star Wars Holiday Special" was a disaster which Lucas has attempted to destroy all traces of.

He needs to try better, then. Both The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia and The Complete Star Wars Locations (both of which have been published in the last couple of years or so) contain direct references to characters and situations from the SWHS. Even if George isn't vetting this stuff personally (he probably isn't), you'd think he'd have his minions on the look-out, right?

What I wish is that George Lucas would drop his fascination with the #^^><€^£!!! clone wars. Two movies and two animated shows have now covered the same manufactured war between 'good clones and bad droids'.

The Clone Wars hadn't really been covered that much until recently .....

In "Attack of the Clones" there's not really much emphasis on the war until around the last quarter of the movie.

For "Revenge of the Sith", the war generally seems to be winding down, after three years of fighting.

And for the first animated series, it only really amounts to just over two hours of animation.

Honestly, I'm really not following your train of though on this.
So I guess we'll just call it a day.:)
