    Team is shaping up nicely...
    Time for some preparation hints.

    If you play...

Tactical, bring: High DPS Weaponry, If you are able to one-shot Protodrones and Neural Distribution Nodes, you will save lives.
Batleth's could be useful to bypass personal Borg shields, but if you go for batleth, make it a high DPS one.
Your kit should be Squad Leader, but if you have Motion Accelerator as well it will be helpful to shave of some time at the last ground part.

    Engineering: Also High Damage recommended
Bunker Fabrication kit is a must have for this mission.

Science: Expose weaponry will be helpful for the Tacticals to one shot them possibly.
At least one science should be a healer; if there is more than one on the team, any other kit is fine.

Everybody should bring a big hypospray supply. Even a small hypo will break the dreaded holds and keep you in the fight while regenerating you a bit.

Voice chat is important to coordinate a team successfully.
I use either vent or steam.
Even if you have no microphone you should be able to hear me at least, so I dont have to type every single order which usually takes to long to prevent deadly mistakes.

I've got Tactical, with some decent weapons. Forget my kit loadout, but have the accelerator anyway. I don't have a mic for voice, but if we figure out what we're using, can at least listen I guess, and respond by typing if needed

other than the boss fight, not sure how much really needs second to second commands, though...

*rubs hands in anticipation of getting a Borg subtranswarp engine* :)

    Oh and I'm an engineer.

I'll be bringing a bunker fabrication kit, a CRM 200 (it's good for holds) and a proton prototype rifle.

Space wise I'll either be bringing my assault cruiser or an advanced heavy cruiser refit.

hehe, I got lucky on infected. But I think I've told that story before so I don't want to repeat myself.

But it's true, those STFs are incredibly difficult, even with a full and competent team. Yes, the experience makes it easier, but for some even that can be overwhelming. It's kind of like those last 5 levels on WoW they added recently supposedly taking as long as the previous 10. At that point... well... whats the point?

I still like the game though, and would be considering the lifetime sub if i could afford it in one lump sum. I wish I had the kind of money that $240 was able to "talk" me into it, as someone mentioned. lol.

Save it over time. Every month when you pay your $14.95, take another $15 and put it in a jar. If you can't afford it in a month, put in $10 or whatever. If you have a bunch of extra cash, put in $30, or $45. In no time you'll have enough. Then deposit it and buy your lifetime sub.

There might even be another sale along the way before you reach $300.

You may be waiting a long time - it's always a risk changing ANY MMO revenue model (SOE only made EQII F2P - EQ, SWG, Vanguard, etc.; are still all sub only with no plans to switch.)

Champions Online subs were way below the exoected mark, which was why they decided to try a hybrid F2P model with it. STO on the other had is doing quite well; and I would say it's by no means certain is will ever go F2P in the near future; although as always, anything is possible.

Just my own personal opinion, but could this partially be because the graphics are yark worthy? I had mine turned all the way up, all the way down, and every combination in between and it was still terrible.

Again "Free to Play" ISN'T a gift. Thye hope to draw you in enough so you like the game enough to either buy the occassional perk; or just bite the bullet and subscribe to get extra perks for free - the mothly CO 400 point stipend; etc.

They did all this in the hopes of having CO generate MORE of a cash flow for Atari/Cryptic then it had been under the 'subscription only' model. The ppoint of all the work they put into the revamp of CO is so it becomes profitable.

Thus, if you ain't paying something; honestly, yes, they could care less if you continue to play CO or not as a Silver account.

We still doing this thing? Did we get a 5th, or do we need to try and draft someone when we get there?

I count you, me, Blamo, and Birds of Prey so far.

Also need details on the voice thing you want to use. Which one, how to set it up and get it working, etc. Never used any of them before. DOn't have a mic, but I figure that since Timelord is running this op, he's the only one that NEEDS to have it. As long as he can direct things and the rest can hear, we should be good enough...

As far as I know we are still on... one hour to go, should give everyone time to set up their voice chat program... How about vent? should be easy enough to use as soon as I find out how to host a channel, unless someone else already does

Edt: Ok, since I have no idea how to set-up a vent server I think I will just invite you to the server of my other fleet. Just download the latest Vent client I will give you the server name and password once we have the team assembled.

Unless one of you has a more privat server set up already of course.

I don't have a mic, so I'll only be able to listen. 30 mins to go !!

I'm an engineer, so I'll be bringing my Fabrication Specialist Mark X very rare kit, plus I have the prototype proton rifle, and the freeze hold gun and staff from the breen missions.

Congratulations everyone on your successful Infected run. We made it without losing anybody and fried the Queen at first try. The final room only took a few minutes. The way it should be. :bolian:

very nice, good work all! Kinda nice when we're actually able to get a group together to do one of these things. VERY nice to get to ignore all the chat in the GO sector.

Seriously, what a piss-poor way to set that up! Should at least be able to join a queue like PvP or something. Getting constant spam with 'LFG for (whatever mission)' sucks, especially when there's probably 10 groups of 3 looking for 2 more...

Actually there is a menu you can use to find a team. It's just that almost nobody uses it.

    where/how?

Yeah, just not put together well. Should be able to maybe just 'start' the mission, and have it queue you up. Once 5 people hit join, mission starts, instant team. Would cut the BS on that one way down.

That, and maybe not require the same 5 people to stay on one team together for 3-4 hours to beat a mission :)

Agree... on a side note... We were actually slow today... give everyone a bit more experience and we blast through this in 60-90 minutes at the most.
