One problem I have with some fans of modern Trek is they tend not embrace the cheese of TOS and when it shows up in modern Trek they automatically cringe at it. People need to sit back and appreciate some cheese every once in awhile...

There's a difference between "an alien planet/Holodeck murderers that mimic the Nazis" cheese and "ha, ha, here's ACTUAL NAZIS" cheese.

It's funny how Patterns of Force is only cheesy 40 years on though.. It had great impact years ago and the explanation for the nazis was integral to the story unlike "Hodgkin's Law of Parallel Planetary Development" which was pure bollocks.

I adored the ENT space nazis.

Ah, hell, man, I don't even remember. I haven't seen the episode since it aired. I'm seriously overdue for a series rewatch.

I just remember seeing him die and sighing. =/

Good guy.

I knew from reading season four previews that the writers wanted to finalize the TCW as quickly as possible and I was glad to hear that overall, but I always liked Silik and the Suliban in general. I wish I could have gotten more of them and theirs without having to keep going with the TCW.

I was actually quite ticked off about the "cliffhanger." And really ticked off with Stormfront. I would have preferred a better episode about the crew's homecoming (perhaps even a two-parter).

Instead we got a really bad "wrap up" of the TCW.

eta: Adding insult to injury that this was Enterprise's last season and a truncated one at that.

x2

I hated the way they ended the season with the space nazis. It just seemed out of place, almost disrespectful to the previous episodes.

It was an interesting twist.. I thought the typical "homecoming arc" that everyone seems to love around here has been bled to death by the followup to BOBW, and DS9's War arcs and all that.. Instead they just went for it and let all the crazy ideas fly. Some of it was really cool and some of it was crazy, but they turned it up a notch and let their Trekkie Flannel fly. No one can fault them for that. It's what made Season 4 exciting to watch.

Actually, I think dealing with the Space Nazis took up valuable time that could have been better spent on other storylines in Season 4.

Of course you do. However somehow they had to do it, and they did. It was inevitable..You CAN'T have a Trek prequel without Space Nazis.
