Name that Game

You didn't blur it enough. Based on the shape of it my very first guess, Deathbringer seems to be it.

Google-fu only for confirmation.

I don't know if anybody ever played this game. But I hate it... it haunts me to this day... it has very light internet presence... anyway, if you've played it you've certainly seen this screen:

Judging by the graphic description of death and the graphics, I'd have to take a stab and say Beyond Shadowgate for the Turbografx CD.

Nope... nothing to do with Shadowgate. Though strangely I did consider throwing up the NES version of Shadowgate... loved that game. First played it at the Nintendo World Championships at age 9 or so. My brother and I couldn't even open the first door without help from a passerby.

Anyway it seems that a hint or two might be in order. It's a PC game, and it's based on a franchise that you've heard about, but that seemingly never really made it in gaming. The only other game I know of for this franchise is a pinball machine.

See what I said about non-googlable text? :)

Ok, this is the first screen of the game (after the title screen):

Someone should be able to figure it out. If not... well... I'm content to let the game die on page 85 ;)

Something tells me it would be easier to get a good night's sleep if you didn't have a microwave on the bed.

I know I've played this, but don't have a bloody clue what it is. Both screens look familiar though. Grah.

Geck, what you are experiencing is your brain's defense mechanism against playing this game. For your safety I suggest just letting someone who has never played figure it out.

Is it a game about escaping from hell? Maybe, I never beat it... but that would make some sense. If so thanks for the spoiler asshole :)

The 'microwave' holds the key on guessing the title...

Yes, it's Sprint 2 (1976), evidenced by the two scores up top. Sprint 1 didn't come out until 1978.
